Schottenheimer starts off OTA with some paintball

Oh, my bad

However, i remember last season ,week 1 , when I really believed that the Browns top 5 defense was going to destroy our offense.....I was wrong because I forgot that the offenses are usually ahead of the defenses early in the season

The Brown had no offense at any point of the season but the Eagles have a potent one so our D may have a long day
It would be awesome to beat the Eagles. I'm hoping Shotty does pull off a miracle.

I mean...this is ludicrous really. I can't believe some of the people in here actually are rationalizing this

These guys are football players sure, but they're also employees at a JOB.

Has anyone in here ever gotten a job in their life, where you show up to work on the 1st or 2nd day, and your boss is like "screw work guys, let's go play kickball or Frisbee golf instead of working.

We'd all probably like it if that happened, but in the back of our head we'd be thinking "what kind of Cracker jack company am I working for? How are they in business?"
Have you worked in corporate America since the 70’s?

This stuff happens constantly in Fortune 500 companies, let alone small companies worth billions who can afford to do anything they want to cater to the elite mindset of their highly comp’d employees.

I’m convinced that 90% of the people who are constantly negative remember the 90s championships like yesterday, were already middle aged for the Landry years and just woke up from a nap and are not quite sure what day it is because days of the week lost relevance to them years ago

And what truth would that be?
That it was for a tax break not for team building. I was joking because I have been part of these so called team building exercises many times. Sorry got busy at work to reply.

Don’t know if this will equate to wins or not.

But I do know that past OTA’s have resulted in just 2 playoff wins so I’m not
mad at Shotty for shaking things up.

Maybe not the first day.or 2.

Have you gone to company Christmas paroles? Or Christmas Day for the family and kids. I wotprked for places that had them, gave presents to the kids.

Company family picnics or gatherings.

A company I worked for gave each group money twice a year for a group gathering. How they spent it was up to them. They could all go out to a lunch or dinner. Invite the families if they wanted. Or have a group cookout and invite the families if they wanted.
They voted on what to do each time.

Why so down on fans that like this idea?

I mean, you nailed it as far as I'm concerned. Ball security would be a smart thing to work on right now.
And just how much and how often should they work on it?
They can only do so much.

Hey, work on ball security for 10 hours. Then have a meal from the cafeteria, then go to your rooms for the night. Go use the restrooms before we lock the doors. Film studies at 5 AM.

Same.

So, these events are effective or just a silly way to take a temporary break from the office?

If they call it team building, they write it off. If it's entertainment, they cannot. I don't know. I've just always thought the ping pong table crap was a gimmick.

I mean, this is a cheap gimmick attempting to build culture. It's play stuff. Not serious. Slacker mentality, like McCarthy smashing watermelons.

How does this impact their GameDay performances. This is truly stupid. They can all do this in the Dak yard, or whatever else
I would never knock any team building activities.

100%…almost every company of any significance has regular team building events.

In the last 6 months, we have held events at COSM, volunteered at a food bank, built bicycles for kids at Christmas, had a suite at a Stars game, and held an event at Chicken N Pickle.

This is nothing new and any leader worth their salt would agree that team building is an important component of leadership and team unity.

People just want to be outraged for the sake of being outraged. The Cowboys provide plenty of opportunities for outrage but this isn’t one of them.

Cowboys Pro Bowl LG Tyler Smith said new head coach Brian Schottenheimer took the team to play paintball on the first day of optional team activities. “I thought that was a crazy thing. That’s never happened before. I thought that was really cool to start things off on a fun note. … The guys were going crazy. It was fun.”

Who was the best?

“Markquese Bell. Oh my God. Oh my God. Markquese Bell could probably go to SEAL Team 6. I’m not gonna lie, the way he be paintballing, Bell, for sure.”

Landry wept.

Brave words.
Get back to me in November when the kids are talking back to Coach Schotty in a blowout against a mediocre team.

It won’t be because of some paintball trip. This is just outrage for the sake of outrage and a silly hill to die on.

And there is nothing brave about what I said. It is all 100% true.

Watermelon to paint ball, such inspiration for the team
Next is Theater Night when players show off their singing, dancing and thespian skills. And Coach Schotty is having a great time being beloved by players.

You brave. 100% sure you also an absolutist, Paintball Daddy.
