Schottenheimer starts off OTA with some paintball

Jimmy made lots of player friendly “fun” decisions to build camaraderie and relationships. You just don’t remember or choose not to.
On the first day of OTA’s? What fun activities do you remember Jimmy having the team partake in to kick off OTA’s? This is reminding me of when Campo took the team to some dude ranch during training camp. That really helped build toughness and team unity. lol How about Wade and camp cupcake?

We’ll see if Schotty can talk Jerry into setting up some tennis courts, badminton and volleyball to loosen the players up for the start of camp. Lol

I mean, by all means, have fun together. I'm all for comradary. But you're setting the tone for future practices here. We thought TC was Camp Cupcake before. Looks like Schotty is rolling out Camp Cupcake 2.0.

I'm not trying to cut a new HC slack because he rolls out some gimmick while talking about a culture change.

Actions are louder
Just be glad they are not taking a field trip to a build a bear store. :muttley:

Full disclosure, this is AI.

3. Fostering Leadership Through Shared Experiences

Johnson understood that leadership emerged from shared experiences. By organizing team dinners and outings, he created environments where players could connect on a personal level, leading to stronger leadership within the team. These activities helped players develop a sense of camaraderie and accountability, essential components of a successful team.

In summary, Jimmy Johnson's emphasis on team-building activities outside of practice was integral to his coaching philosophy. By investing in his players' personal development, fostering trust and respect, and creating opportunities for shared experiences, he built cohesive teams capable of achieving great success.
sounds like shotty is doing just this.

Perhaps a guest speaker from a combat veteran Tier-1 Operator would have a more meaningful impact, than playing grab-arse.
How do you think grunts work so well as a team? Training which includes grab *** time. Orgainized grab ***.

Don’t see where taking the team to play paintball on the first day of OTA’s and having players play ping pong is a recipe for building a great team. Training camp might be like attending Club Med. :oldcouple: This wasn’t the Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson approach. OTA’s is suppose to be about football.
Making the team into a family is impirtant. Lots of teams do similar stuff including the chiefs

Lots of teams do. You want them to feel like a family and fight for each other every Sunday

After reading this didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and then I remembered I’m all cried out. So I laughed and laughed and laughed…

One of the first things Jimmy did when he took over from Landry was to assign lockers (sound familiar). He then cleared out the middle of the locker room, installed comfy chairs and set up dominos tables.

When he first took over the team he set up the lockerroom the way he wanted. Landry had his way and Jimmy had his own way. However, he didn’t set up any activities the first day of OTA’s that had nothing to do with football. Jimmy was so tough on his players during QTA’s he retired Randy White.
