Schottenheimer to dallas in some role?

i will take the stance that the title of this thread is discussing the special teams coach for GB.....and not the newly fired HC of the Chargers

Ron Rivera seems like the logical choice to step in, the irony is the John Clayton reportd (so take with salt) is that Wade phillips was a beloved coach that would've been the natural favorite for a promotion, did jerry inadvertantly break the camel's back by taking away another assistant coach from Marty? Stay tuned.

Just fired by San Diego, anyone think he comes here with alot of his assistants and takes a backseat to Philips possibly as the quality control coach or something. I know its doubtful but i could see it happening. thoughts?

The only job opening could be waterboy... or does Wade do the same thing with rookies as Parcells? If so.... then there are no positions for Marty here...

Just when you tell yourself you have seen the silliest thread, someone changes it all.

I always liked schotty and thought he was a great coach. Whichever team lands him will get an assest in my opinion

well, while I think phillips will probably end up being a good coach, I think it would have worked better with marty as HC, and phillips as DC.

does Phillips have any coaching expirience? or is this is first go around?

Seriously Clark?

FRANKLY, I think Marty will go back to coaching the Skins. Or managing a Johnny Rockets.

Indeed, your team would be a playoff team if he was still there. Biggest asset and mistake Snyder made to date was hiring him and then firing him.

Skins would be infinitely more competitive with him than they have been without him, he went 8-8 with a sorry club after an 0-5 start and Tony Banks at QB, that is impressive to me.

Are you being playful or serious? He has had one losing season in 5 years of coaching mediocre teams in Denver and Buffalo, his best work came with the crap that was the Bills, he is 0-3 in the playoffs and made a scapegoat for the "Music City Miracle" of the 1999 playoffs.

The man has a steady but not sexy resume, he can win however he just won't provide sound bytes.

Schott does not NEED a job. He has already made his money and if he can't get the job he wants on his terms he will likely just go watch the ponies run with Parcells. And the job he wants is not to be a flunky underling for one of his former employees.

If he did anything for the Cowboys it might be as a consultant during training camp the way Parcells used to bring in guys like Ron Wolf and Tom Caughlin to training camp. No way is he a full time coach anywhere unless he is the Head Coach.

Schott will sit out this year the Chargers still have to pay him 4.5 million

Good to hear...take it easy, man. Just know that I, personally, hate you no matter what you're here to discuss.

That being said, Wade has a winning record as a head coach, built during his last stint in Buffalo. He did this with Antowain Smith, Jonathan Linton and Roug Jutie as his playmakers on offense. They have been abysmal since he was fired, as he would not fire his ST coach as a scapegoat for the music city miracle debacle for Ralph Wilson, who likes to have stadiums and rare cheeses named after himself.

Just when I think I've seen the most absurd thread ever.....

Say what you will, MS's one of a handfull of coaches to win 200 games.

He never did much in the playoffs, but then he never really had a great QB, either.

Well he did have Montana, in his dying days as a pro, still pretty good, better than most.;)
