Schotty on Milton

Where's Grier?

She certainly had it back in the days. I doubt she is able to carry the team these days.

Whether he's capable of significantly improving is yet to be seen, but yeah, if he was already accurate, he woulda have been a high pick and the Steelers wouldn't have traded him! I think every QB can become more accurate with coaching, I want to see how he handles pressure, how he reads defenses,,,
its often about bad foot work....most college QBs lack it and it takes a lot of repetition for them to fix the footwork (breaking bad habits is hard). so hopefully he will improve.

Romo? Are you out of your mind? Romo probably wants nothing to do with the Cowboys anymore. @America's Cowboy. Romo done went Hollywood.

And also, you want Dak teaching him his habits? Get outta here with that nonsense. lol
Despite number of posts someone should know Romo is as close to Jerry Jones as any Cowboy ever.He named his second son "Jones": as a tribute to the family.

To me, anytime a guy has a great arm but he still gets drafted very late, there are obvious other issues. IMO you're almost better off with a late round guy with an average arm who has other intangibles that might translate to the pros.
The biggest red flag for me was NE was willing to essentially give him away rather than have a hedge bet vs Maye busting.

He is no doubt raw and needs reps. Much like Lance, how exactly does that happen in Dallas? In Milton’s case, he WANTED to come here. Huh?

I will again though say I’d be more happy watching what he might become vs Cooper Rush if Dak goes down again.

The Patriots suck.

He's been somebody's project since 2018. And 7 years later, he's still a project.

He never had any issues in Knoxville (or Ann Arbor, that I'm aware of) of not being a good dude. He's just a terrible football player.

Milton will serve as a backup to starter Dak Prescott in Dallas. Prescott has missed 25 regular season games over the last five seasons, so there's a decent chance that Milton will be pressed into action at some point during the 2025 regular season.

Ya, think?
:lmao: :laugh::lmao:

Lmao...I can smell the desperateness oozing out of your pores as you typed this. ^^^^

I have to agree , for the most part.
Milton was obvious in the fact that he wasn't as instinctive as Hooker and Dobbs when he was at Tennessee.
He does have talent, but he just didn't seem to have the instincts of the other two.
However, he is better than Dak at leading an offense if he is coached correctly. He doesn't choke. He does throw interceptions if he is not corralled by his offensive coordinator.
Milton's biggest issue seemed to be inexperience. I think Trey Lance was a better prospect.

John Machota on GBAB nation a couple days ago was at the first OTA. According to him Milton's accuracy was still lacking. And you all know I wanted to move on from number 4 after his rookie deal expired in 2019.
I think he's going to be hit and miss. There will be times that he looks like he did in the last game of the regular season last year, and there will be times when he absolutely blows some throws. I don't think anyone should be expecting him to be Dak's replacement ... ever. Doesn't mean he can't be an exciting No. 2.

He played 6 seasons of NCAA too.

Still can’t throw.

Hindsight always being 2020, a #4 trade after the 2016 or '17 season may have landed us a few nice draft picks. #9 would have taken over in 2017 while the team searched for a new starter. In 2018, that new starter could have been Lamar Jackson, drafted 32nd by the Ravens.

Lol, he sure doesn't look terrible.

Rumor has it that Milton was playing pretty darn close to Drake Maye on the Patriots practice field, and was upset that he wasn't getting a chance to start. New England dealt him, because if a Milton vs Maye competition was even close, they had to go with their 3rd overall pick. It just an untenable situation to have a backup QB in for the next 3 years.

I don't see that as making Milton "not a good dude" - I think he's a competitor getting denied his shot, rightly or wrongly, because of draft politics.

The Pats did Milton a solid and allowed him to pick his trade destination among the teams that called them. He picked Dallas, because he saw that as his best chance to make starts. It's definitely an interesting look at how others around the league view Dak and his health.

If he's got game, I imagine Dallas is going to see it pretty quickly as well.

Basically they signed a Dak clone. Talk about a lack of imagination.
