Schotty on Milton

Milton is a solid player and gives us a reliable backup behind Dak. If Dak ever goes down with an injury again, Milton could eventually step in as the starter and maybe even take over the job down the line.

Let’s not forget—people used to say Dak was just a running QB, with average arm strength and not much consistency.

The Patriots traded Milton because they didn’t want a quarterback controversy on their hands—simple as that.

We’re lucky to have him here in Dallas, and honestly, he could end up being Dak’s replacement in the future if things play out that way.
JM not even close to Rush or Lance.

He’s making league min for a reason.

His draft profile is brutal.

Can’t throw.

How can fans just ignore it?

He can definitely throw, he may have some issues with accuracy, but there is talk that he has the strongest arm in the league.
You are speaking of his draft profile, people are optimistic over what he has shown preseason, and the last game of the year as a pro.

You talking about "bus driver throws"...Dak can't even make simple throws without an INT in the postseason.

EXCEPT...once we are down by 4 scores and the opposing D is relaxed...Dak turns gunslinger for sure.
Ah, now I get it, one of those Dak obsession things. I like to discuss other facets than Dak, and this isn't a Dak thread.

Same as Reggie Robinson and Eric Scott. And now Mafah. I guess it's just preferring ubridled optimism.

Strong arm does not mean he can throw.

I think hoping a late round RB can be a solid contributor to a committee is realistic.

I agree that hoping a late round QB can be a franchise quarterback is pie in the sky.
Look all that can be true but that doesn't mean anything I wish we stopped comparing because I can go over oh I don't know tom Brady 6th round pick brock Purdy 7th round pick kurt Warner and Tony Romo undrafted I mean shall I go on I mean even Prescott's a 4th round pick it does not matter where you were picked in the draft it matters how you play when you get there..

You just need the opportunities, I believe Terrell Davis was a 6th round pick it doesn't matter sometimes the draft is not a perfect process people are drafted too high too low they're undrafted they should have been drafted I mean how do you think players end up playing for the UFL and come here and we have the best kicker in the league butler looked good and Turpin play the best returner in the league why did they have to go to the UFL before they came to the NFL it's because general managers and coaches are not perfect their eyes can be lying to them that's the point..

It's all a pie in the sky that is why we have training camp in preseason that's why we have a true offseason it isn't too see players we already know are proven they don't need to even get in shape nowadays these players are year round gym rats for the most part this is not the way it used to be in the old NFL where everyone else had a separate job and then they needed training camp just to get in football shape no no training camp and preseason are for these guys we're talking about that's exactly what it's for that's why completely getting rid of it would be stupid on the NFL's part unless they pick up the UFL as like A GLeague and allow some of our players to play there until the season starts here and then can come over here somehow that would be cool but right now we need the offseason of all the camps and the preseason to clear up these debates..

Didn't you say just on the last page that his ceiling was Tyrod Taylor?

Didn't you say just on the last page that his ceiling was Tyrod Taylor?
I didn't say that was where I expected him to be I said as fans that's where we would hope for him to be like that would be our goal in our minds that's it he has no expectation beyond that and that's just his best case scenario why do you ask I was just being the silver lining guy i'm saying Don't expect anything better than that that doesn't mean he's going to become Taylor, i'm saying that's his ceiling if he ever reaches it that's still up in the air...

And no I didn't say he's becoming Taylor I didn't say he is Taylor I said that would be his ceiling at best that's not what I expect that's if he ever turns into anything and makes it in this league that's as far as I can see him going.

He's easily on the path to just be another tray lance he's going to have a cup of coffee and be gone that would be his floor. I mean I said that too you remember I said that he's just a larger stronger armed version of Trey Lance that doesn't mean I think he doesn't have a chance but that's what I see him as that's his floor.

..

"From the time he's been here, the work ethic is incredible. He's one of the first people in the building. He's one of the last to leave. The way he's attacked the playbook and [is] picking it up has been incredible. And it's been fun for me to watch Dak (Prescott) take a mentorship role with Joe. The talent speaks for itself. You guys will see it today. He made some incredible throws yesterday. He's just an exciting young prospect that I think the sky's the limit for."

Our head coach is practically swooning over Milton.
We should all be embarrassed for him.
