I can't argue this.By the time the Cowboys are done with that every free agent on this forum's wish list will be all gone.
I'm still hoping for him and the team to negotiate a longer term deal that will lower that cap hit.
It's still feasibly doable.
No argument. I totally get what you're saying.the last thing I want is for Schulz to get a long term deal with us. He’s just not good enough. They should never have franchised him. You can get a player in rds 3-5 in the draft this year who can give you what Schulz can
I can live with a one year deal but no long term deal
Good catch, my friend. What's funny is that he had a rep as a blocker in college.
Hear that? That was $11 million of the Cowboys' cap space vanishing. Bye, Ladarius Smith, Bobby Wagner, and Tyrann Mathieu.
Salary cap numbers I've seen were already including him. We had $26 million in space not counting the Kearse signing. So we should still have $21 million, which is plenty if we actually wanted to make any legitimate moves (and that's without the June 1 money for cutting Collins, which is more than enough to sign our draft picks).

I like Shulz but really think the tag works against the cowboys. now there is no scenario he signs a contract with less than $20M guaranteed and hejust is not worth that.
Why would he not sign a 3-4 year deal with lower cap hit but 10-12 million guaranteed. He gets the same or slightly better guarantee, but gets security and a longer contract.I like Shulz but really think the tag works against the cowboys. now there is no scenario he signs a contract with less than $20M guaranteed and hejust is not worth that.
he's a 4-5 million dollar te max.I don't think that was likely to avoid with or without the tag. Dallas Goedart recently got a 4 year 57 million extension with 35 million guarantees. Schultz's deal likely in that ballpark. The tag is a pretty friendly option in 22 while the Cowboys figure out their long term plan at TE.
