i am not talking the super-popular stuff like star trek, star wars, xmen, avengers, smallville, x files type stuff.

what is your favorite sci fi tv show that is not so well known.

a few would be: babylon 5, dr. who, red dwarf...

my favorite would be babylon 5
any b5 fans out there?

I know it was kind of cheesy but I liked Dark Matter as well.

Only watched Firefly the series after I watched the movie.

Shocked they did not go back and redo it...maybe go forward with a few new people as a series on Netflix but it appears that ship has sailed.

Kind of wish they would redo a Buck Rodgers show but have it done more seriously like they did with the Battlestar Galactica reboot.

There was a spinoff from BattleStar Gallactica called Caprica. Very short lived but I thought it could have gone somewhere. I think fans wanted and expected another BattleStar but it was different and I think folks never really gave it a chance.

Also liked a series called Almost Human. Some years back, there was a series called Space, Above and Beyond. I liked that but it died.

There is a Series out now called West World. The original series was a mini series during the 70s. It was good then and the remake is pretty good IMO, but, I am wondering if it will be shortlived as well. Because the original was a mini series, I wonder if they will just write to the original story line and then kill it? If so, thats only a couple of seasons. That show has potential to go way further, if they choose to take it there.

I remember Caprica. I think it started off with an act of terrorism, which may be why it was short lived.

I disliked the SyFy Channel cancelled Defiance. It had a touch of cheese but I think that had more to do with its budget limitations.

I liked that show as well.

I think they had too many variations of species and too little budget to really make it work.

Space: Above and Beyond had real solid potential. I thought the first season was very well-written. The CGI was good and the cast was well-rounded. I hoped FOX would hang with it but I think they gave up on it too quickly IMO.
