Sci Fi TV

I liked that show as well.

I think they had too many variations of species and too little budget to really make it work.
Agreed.

Shows like Defiance are perfect fits for relatively unknown stars like Grant Bowler and Stephanie Leonidas (especially Leonidas). That is something I enjoy about science fiction programming generally, the chance to see actors shine when they cannot normally do so in more mainstream projects.

i am not talking the super-popular stuff like star trek, star wars, xmen, avengers, smallville, x files type stuff.

what is your favorite sci fi tv show that is not so well known.

a few would be: babylon 5, dr. who, red dwarf...

my favorite would be babylon 5
any b5 fans out there?

heh Dr. Who isn't well known? It has more episodes than Star Trek! (840 for Dr. Who vs 740 for Star Trek!)

It's less mainstream though.

The older Dr Who was kind of less mainstream.
Most americans only remember Tom Baker as the Doctor and that was when they occasionally showed them on PBS.

When they did the Reboot...It really took off and it is a widely popular series both in the Britian and the US.

Some of the stars were interviewed and were shocked at how popular it became in the US now.

David and Matt really helped the show.
Peter was ok as the last doctor...now we got to see how the new one will be as they went with a Woman. If they were going with a woman I was kind of hoping for Tilda Swinton to play the Doctor but they picked some other woman that I am not familiar with so no clue how it will be.

Given I have never really watched TV much especially on a broadcast schedule. I never really watched much Dr. Who, but when I did as a kid. It was Tom Baker. The only time I really watched TV which how I became a Star Trek fan is because I would watch at night when I laid down to sleep. Star Trek would come on around 10pm to midnight (two episodes), then at midnight Dr Who would come on. I normally didn't make it through Dr. Who, but I used to start watching it. Mainly because of the cool intro that looked like you were going through a wormhole or something.

I haven't watched it since the really old Dr. appeared.

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. It was a Sci-Fi/Western hybrid that starred Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame. Unfortunately it only lasted one season.

Eureka
Helix

There was a show that came on the sci fi channel in the early 2000s about a alien invasion. I can' remember what it was called?
