Yes, we had long drives, but, when we got into the red zone, it seemed that the Colts knew what we were going to do for the most part. At least from what I saw.

I would agree if it were not for miscues in that part of the field. FB is wide open and misses the catch, Colts had no clue on that play. Poor blocking a contributing factor. As I have said in other threads I put blame on every single person from players to coaches so I'm not sparing any blame on anyone but also not putting it all on anyone, in my view they all share in this embarrassing loss.

Oh, I agree that the entire team is to blame, and I indicated that when I said that Dak was atrocious (I'm someone who seldom has a go at him). I still think that the playcalling could've been better. Additionally, similar to the Falcons game, our coaches couldn't quite figure out how to adjust when we lost Sua-Filo. I know it's difficult to do, but I thought that they called the second half, in particularly, very similarly to the Falcons game.

I will not defend the coaches, this team did not look ready. Redzone has been an issue through out the season and while I think coaches share in it much of what I see is on the players as well as I see break downs in their execution. Dallas will get down there and blow a chance, get some stupid penalty that moves then back or take a sack. Just my view but if they can solve their the redzone problems this team can make some noise. if they continue to fail then they will not go far.

I agree with you there that we need to fix the red zone problems, and the failure to be prepared is on the coaches. I will still argue that I don't like the way that the coaches are calling the game offencively, and I think that they would be a detriment to a QB like Tua if he were brought in here. I've listed the players that Garrett has destroyed back in, I believe, October since becoming HC. It's really quite staggering, and Linehan has been abysmal too. For one thing, I don't like that Dak's legs weren't used during that game.

What is amazing is that only 2 of those teams have a legitimate chance at the playoffs. The rest are all absolute rubbish this year.

I totally agree with everything from your perspective of the coaching lacking sound scheme and strategy game plans based on their understanding of their own QB's limitations.

This does not discount as an equal culprit the QB's inability to physically execute said game plans when opportunities "clearly" present themselves several times over throughout the course of most every one of our games. Kurt Warner's piece was very telling in this regard and a thread on this board from yesterday. Another Zone poster is saying a similar thing in regards to play calling and red zone ineptitude in the Are You Enjoying This thread on this board. You are both right. But even after being shown the Warner film and listening to Acheman be as politically sensitive as he can be without thrashing Dak publicly, I still say the lack of natural ability of the QB takes more than 50 percent of the blame for the lack of offensive success. That old saying you can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig comes to mind.

I don't believe for one second when both Allen Hurns and Cole Beasly publicly question their number of targets based on said evidence. I do not think either of these players have all of a sudden become malcontents, sell outs, traitors or haters trying to throw Dak under the bus but just venting their overall frustration with the circumstances. Coukd it have been kept in house? Maybe so, but it is still totalky understandable to me. Guys"are getting open" even in this out dated scheme. Dak can't make the throws.

And again, totally count me in on the Tua bandwagon.

Speaking of Beasley, I think that he should spend more time looking for the ball and less time talking about it. He had a chance after the deflection to catch it and score. Yet, he stood there like a bloody statue. Hurns, on the other hand, has a point. Dak had a bad game, but the receivers like Beasley and the FB didn't help him much, and neither did the coaches. You know my sentiments for next year and the year after, so I won't rehash them again in this comment. Suffice it to say that our coaching staff, save MAYBE Richard (though, I wasn't terribly impressed with him last game either) and Colombo, needs a complete overhaul.

Yep, totalky agree on an entire coaching change save the 2 you mentioned is in order. But I think in regards to the Beasley route, I believe another poster pointed this exact thing out in another thread and it would be just futile speculation on both our parts to glean anything as empirical. But what I found interesting regarding that was the speculative question he raised of what does the actual route require the receiver to do? Continue running or "sit down and post up" like Witten always did usually short of the chains. I mean, Linehan should know Dak better than anyone on what he can and can't throw effectively. If he can't complete a simple crossing route while leading a receiver (well I mean, Eli still cant either but that's a different discussion) then we truly are limited even moreso than I even thought by not only what Dak can consistently throw based on Linehans intimate knowledge. Leonard is good, but Beasley was NFL open initially and Dak, in true Dak fashion, was late and inaccurate. As he always is.

I agree, and I think that Dak would benefit IMMENSELY from a coach like Reid or Nagy. Or, simply, he'd benefit from someone from that system because of his similarities with McNabb. Sure, he's not the most accurate, but he also hasn't used his legs for a while. I think that the legs bit is going to continue to be common, and Tua can run as well. I want someone who can harness the legs abilities just as much as the arm ability.

Every quarterback misses passes, but because of how we run our offense, missed opportunities by our team are magnified. We limit the number of offensive series for both teams, so you can't afford time-consuming, 10- to 15-play drives that don't result in points.

A good throw to Hurns down the sideline and a better throw to Olawale on a great play-call and we have at least 14. Then, there's the lob to Jarwin on another great play design that Dak threw that allowed the defender to make a play on the ball. We just can't afford those things.
