IRVING, Texas – As Day 2 begins for the Cowboys, Scout’s Eye takes a look at 5 players to watch:

DeMarcus Lawrence - Boise State - DE - 6-3 - 251 - 4.83

Team is hunting that right defensive end and Lawrence is a perfect fit for that role.
Can really run when it comes to chasing the ball. Plays with a burst. Has some surprising strength to play at the point of attack. Can get around the corner and cause problems for the quarterback. When on the slant inside, can really be disruptive and showed the ability to be a wrap up tackler. Might have to trade up to Oakland (2-36) to make this happen. Count six teams between them that could use an end.

You is showing this to the wrong mens and womans. Show this fine article to Jerra. The thing is to convince him that he can convince us that he knows about this player and the other players all along and was waiting to pounce on them. When you address Jerra, call him Mr. Football Guy. he like that.
Hey, you are looking good in that cap. I will look for one on the internet to wear when I cook.
Bless you, sir.

That would make 2 DE from Boise State in Crawford and Lawrence

Outside of Crichton, that's a pretty bleak group to me. Really thought Ward or Easley and especially Marcus Smith would still be around. Hopefully we continue with BPA even if it means not getting DL help.

Lawrence must interview in a way that defensive coaches really respond to him, or our Boise guys are really playing him up. Attaochu is never in the discussion but he's the same size but significantly faster, quicker, more powerful, and more productive at a bigger conference. I'm not seeing any hope of a dominant RDE in Lawrence. Is an 7-8 sack per year RDE good enough or would we be looking to replace that as soon as we can?

RDE seems like QB. You draft them in the top 15-18 picks of RD1 or draft developmental guys in RD3-RD5.

Joyner seems to have 2 things working against him as a DB short and "slow"

His 40-yard dash time at the combine was faster than both Clinton-Dix and Pryor. He has average speed for a safety; he's just not a speedster the way you might think when you see a guy listed at 5'8".
