This week, we will some players that could factor into the mix, continuing with Davon Coleman, an undrafted free agent in 2014 who spent the entire season with the club, both on the 53-man roster and later the practice squad.

Coleman made the team after training camp and ended up starting the season opener at tackle. He played two games and was inactive for seven before eventually landing on the practice squad. After the season, he was re-signed and once again will be vying for a roster spot in the middle.

Here is an updated scouting report on Coleman:

  • There is a real mystery to this player in every sense of the word. Came out of training camp as part of the 53 man roster – then was off it just as quickly. Was as talented as any defensive linemen that I studied for the 2014 NFL Draft but there is something I am missing here? When I have had interaction with him it has been fun loving and joking which might be his biggest issue. Not sure how dependable and mature he is as a player. Maybe the fact that he made the opening day roster affected him as a player?

If by development they mean chew his *** out for dogging it in practice... then consider him being developed.

That's a fact and it's well taken. First, reportedly, Marinelli told him he needs to get more serious about his job.
Then later, once Greg Hardy arrived on the scene, he scolded Coleman for dogging it, whereby they had a verbal conflict and had to be separated. I imagine that's more than likely the exact reason why Davon Coleman was relegated to the practice squad. Like Marinelli said, he'd better get more serious about his job. It could easily cost him a good opportunity to make the team.

The kid has some physical talent. We've seen the images of him being the quickest guy off the snap. There's some talent there. We'll see if he can master the mental skills.

Not sure but he brings pros and cons to most scouting reports. You just have to understand he doesn't look at film or on grass like he did. So taking him with a grain of salt is necessary. He knows more than most here though.
