ARLINGTON, Texas – We’ll learn a lot more about this game when we have a chance to break down the tape, as usual.

But for now, here are my 12 main impressions from my vantage point in the radio booth at AT&T Stadium:

Loved the pace the first offense played with. They did a nice job of taking the game to the Colts’ defensive, especially with the offensive line. They were able to control the front, which allowed Dak Prescott to operate efficiently. Their ability to run the ball opened up other opportunities down the field. Prescott did a nice job of executing, whether that was from the pocket or on the edge. He was able to keep the Colts on their heels during the snaps that he was in the game.

This adds to the secondary observations...

In the final week of camp Carroll has thrived and was often labeled a top performer. Nobody has stepped up to take Nolan Carroll’s job. The Cowboys drafted a lot of competition, but Carroll should be their starter opening day against the Giants. He has not been perfect, but he’s been good enough for the coaches to stick with. — Bryan Broaddus, DallasCowboys.com

I still fear he’ll be a liability against numerous beast wide receivers on the schedule. Dallas plays their corners a little different than Philadelphia.
Carroll’s recent improvement may be a sign he’s adjusting and fits better in this system.

...I’m starting to see more signs of Terrance Williams extending his hands more to make receptions. His touchdown catch, followed by the two-point play were great examples of how hard he has worked to use his hands more and body less. In those previous pressure situations we would have seen him contort his body in order to make those plays. He is catching the ball with more confidence and it shows...

Was pretty disappoint in Mark Nzeocha tonight. I just don't think he's a good player. We've wait and waited for this guy to get a chance and he's just been underwhelming IMO.
