The 0-3 Rams meet up with the 3-0 Cowboys on Sunday and the Rams went back to work today.
n On the injury front, Richie Incognito was limited in practice once again; his status for Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys remains questionable.
n With the injury to Incognito, it appears that Milford Brown and Claude Terrell will be the starting guards, with Andy McCollum being the backup at both guard spots and center. It is unclear, if seventh year pro Brandon Gorin or Jeremy Parquet will be active for their first game of the year. Gorin signed as a free agent on September 12, and has played in 32 games with 18 starts in his career. Parquet was with the Rams for five games in 2006, but was inactive for all five, and was in training camp with the club. If Incognito is inactive, expect both players to suit up on Sunday.
n Several Rams players were asked about the victory prediction made by Isaac Bruce on Tuesday, and did not go as far to predict victory themselves, but most agreed not to count out the Rams. Quarterback Marc Bulger said, “He’s another guy…he hates losing, I hate losing like all the older guys, our head coach hates losing. It’s good to hear. He’s one of, if not the most fierce competitor on our team. I’d go to battle with him any time. I won’t guarantee a win, but I like his thinking.” Linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa said, “If Isaac says it, he means it.”
n Much has been said about the Dallas offensive unit, currently ranked second in the NFL with 420.3 yards per game. But their defense is much improved and run a Three-Four scheme that played havoc on the Rams offense when they faced San Francisco in Week Two. The Cowboys are eighth in the NFL in run defense, allowing just 86.7 yards per game on the ground.
n Speaking about the Cowboy secondary, which features Terence Newman and Anthony Henry at corner and Ken Hamlin and Roy Williams at safety, wide receiver Drew Bennett said, “They are defiantly something we have to be ready for but nothing we can’t handle. We have plenty of Pro Bowlers on this side of the ball, and as long as we do what we have been coached to do all week and put together the game plan that we’ve got in place we should be fine.”
n Speaking about the teams 0-3 start, Leonard Little said, “Right now we are worried about winning our first game, hopefully put things together this weekend. It is a game of four quarters, and we have played well for three quarters in all three games. We have made some mental mistakes in the fourth quarter that we didn’t make the whole game.”
