Scout: UCLA's Takkarist McKinley could be next DeMarcus Ware

An NFL scout sees DeMarcus Ware-like potential in UCLA DE Takkarist McKinley.

"Terrific speed off the edge," the scout told MMQB. "Perfect for a 3-4 linebacker in the NFL. Could be the next DeMarcus Ware. Freak athlete."

As a senior, McKinley (6-foot-2, 265 pounds) will be eligible for the 2017 NFL Draft, and is in the midst of the most productive season of his college career. With a team-high nine tackles for loss, he's made a big impact on the Pac-12's fourth-ranked defense. In six games, he's recorded four sacks, matching his 13-game total from all of last season.

His size might allow him to slip to where the Cowboys could consider him. He would play RDE in our scheme. He was getting a lot of 3rd and 4th round talk early but now there is 1st round buzz.
