They aren’t a real physical ream either, pretty close to what Dallas is. I will be surprised if the game is close.
The Lions are known for their physicality. Their opponents and analysts are always talking about how they play a hard, physical game that just wears teams down.

When their entire OL is healthy they haven’t lost a game. That OL gives Goff a clean pocket and he will pick apart a defense. He’s been a top 3 QB the last two seasons. However when that OL suffers an injury on the interior Goff struggles. Once his pocket is collapsing he tends to turn it over more frequently. It is all about the OL. Right now they have all 5 starters listed as healthy.

Your right the key is to disrupt him and apply pressure on him but that’s a much harder task when he has a healthy OL.

I'm entitled to my opinion as much as you are to yours. I just have little confidence in this team.
It amazes me on how many times the "positive" posters are the first to go to the insults. See it constantly on this board. They love to tell folks how miserable their lives must be if they don't like every single thing about the team. They don't see the irony in their negative name-calling posts. The lack of self awareness is comical to me.

That said, I do think we whip the Lions, not sure on the Washington game yet, Will have to wait to see if we are resting starters. So I disagree with your opinion, but I don't think you're an Eagles fan because of it. Lol.

Yes the idea of resting anyone after the last 2 weeks makes me want to puke.

Like you said we still have to play it out and hope for home field advantage, thankfully.
I'm with you CWR, I've always hated resting starters. Injuries happen and you cannot play scared. I also like the notion the the HC is telling his team every game is important and should be played with the intent of winning.

My concern is Detroit plays tough. Tough teams usually wear down the Cowboys who we all know are soft as tissues.

Dallas must win the next 2 and pray the Giants can beat Philly.

Remember how many people clowned them for their draft last year? Turns out they hit on all 3 first rounders.

I no longer trust the coaches to get the players properly prepared. Dan Campbell will out-coach Big Mike. Please prove me wrong, Cowboys.

I was going to put the video for wipeout here but since it's the worst song ever written I thought I'd spare you.

I was referring to physicality like SF, Balt, etc. I guess more bullying like.

I have watched the Lions, they are a solid team, they can run the ball very well, and that sets up their play action.

We have to stop the run and on defense they have some holes and can be got. We will be able to move the ball but we must score TD’s and not FG’s.

I don’t think most people realize how good the lions running game is. They are 3rd in the league in rushing yards averaging 140 yards a game.

Which is why we need to score early and often. They are a good passing team too, but if they get ahead by two scores, their running game gets a chance to impose itself. I’m still not convinced the Cowboys have learned how to rely on stopping the run.

Bottom line, the lions avg 27 points a game and avg giving up 23, which means they have won a lot of close games. We need to score at least 30. We avg 36 at home so I’m expecting our offense to put pressure on theirs by scoring 30 or more.

Theirs is very similar to Miami’s and they didn’t run all over Dallas. Fortunately, they like to pass too. If Dallas gets up by ten or so early, their run game should be non-existent.

They are nothing like Miami. The Dolphins attack the perimeter. This plays into the cowboys scheme and athleticism. Dan Quinn utilizes a lot of stunts because his back 7 is smaller and more athletic. Teams running at the perimeter are actually playing into the teeth of his scheme. However teams like Buff and Det utilize a power gap rushing attack and they run directly at you and if they get past your DL they can eat up chunk yardage on the ground. Buff put up 200+ yards rushing on Quinns defense. The Lions are more capable and dangerous on the ground. They will test the cowboys run defense.

The Lions are a funny team to gauge. The beat KC, but lost to Seattle, Chicago and Green Bay. If Dallas was not on a two game losing streak I would pick Dallas 100%. I think the Lions are a good team, but not in the same class as the 49ers, Eagles and Dallas. I think the 49ers got Dallas at the right time, when they are down.

You got into the nit and gritty of it

I was just referring to the use of the run game, how often and when. They, like Miami, seem to stray away from it when it’s working because they both like to pass.
