This is really an excellent write up but it isn't going to make you feel any better -- especially the last part. What it does tell you is if, if, if...but if Tony plays in this game there's a good chance we win pretty convincingly.

Some excerpts--

* As we many of you suspected - Seattle's TD was not Heath's fault. Barry Church was supposed to carry the TE down the middle and he missed the assignment.

* McFadden had a sure TD run with Collins out in front but Collins did not see Carey Williams behind a blocked Chancellor and ran by him. Ultimately Williams made the tackle but if Collins sees him he takes care of business and McFadden was gone.

* From the tape - Lawrence had a great game.

* This might surprise you - Though Free struggled on the last drive - according to Helman he played pretty well especially on backside cut off blocks.

* And this should give you hope - the Seahawks double teamed Randy Gregory even more than Greg Hardy! That's pretty amazing. He says that you can just tell he's not healed from the ankle and can't explode but it sounds like he's going to be dominating for us down the road.

Finally - here's his word for word assessment of the offense. One of our posters was right about Beasley on the final drive, he was wide open downfield.

  • No one has more respect for this Seattle defense than me. I told their general manager, John Schneider, that before the game. What was disappointing from an offensive prospective was that there were opportunities to make some key plays, and the Cowboys didn’t. I thought Matt Cassel missed Dez Bryant two times early in this game. He had him on an arrow route on the first drive that would have likely resulted in a touchdown. His second miss was on “9” route out of max protection where Bryant had separated from Richard Sherman. Cassel also struggled to find Terrance Williams, who had one of his best games running routes. Williams got open on a slant against off coverage and then a third-down comeback that was well executed. Then, after the Hardy interception, Williams ran a beautiful corner route in the end zone, but Cassel chose to go underneath to McFadden for only a three yard gain. But the play that Cassel would likely like to have back in the game was the final drive, where Cole Beasley went vertical down the right side of the field and was wide open. Beasley would have easily put the ball in field goal range if Cassel had just been able to see him.

it looked like weeden stole cassel uniform yesterday. Cassel was terrible. Wonder if garret told him to play it safe after his 3 int's vs the giants.

Maybe he's just not any better than Weeden?

It is just interesting to me from week to week how the narrative gets shifted right to the garbage QB.

He just is terrible. He missed that. He missed this. He took too many risks. He did not take enough chances.

I bet if we won the game on a last minute Bailey FG, you would not hear a thing like this.

There is no way Cassell play the type of game he played against the Giants and then completely change how he plays a week later without the coaches telling him to do so.

Against the Giants, he was throwing down the field, directing receivers while scrambling, and looking at multiple receivers before making his throws. Againts Seattle, he was quick to just dump it off if his first read wasn't open within 2 seconds.

It was very evident the game plan was to play WeDone type of game against Seattle.

Cassel even said after the SEA game they were trying to take what Seattle gave them underneath and not deep. Garrett speak pounded into his brain

Yeah, this is why I haven't been a part of this pitchfork assault of the WRs. You can not evaluate pass catchers when you have horrible QB play. The moment Romo returns, every WR on the roster becomes a much better player.

Yeah I can't accept that all those guys forgot how to play football at the same time

Sigh.

Good catch Bob - fixed it - he was probably posting it for him - thanks for that.

Helman writes what Broaddus tells him verbally because Broaddus struggles to write above a 3rd grade level. Broaddus has admitted this himself. I'm not making it up.
