So there is 23 players with what they consider a 1st round grade and we pick 24 - perfect :)

I would assume Penning, Karlaftis and one of the Guards will go before 24 - so who do you think would drop based on this. My guess would be Jameson Williams (due to inj.) and Linderbaum.

So, with that said - if possible, and unless their guy is there - maybe a trade down to bottom of 1st, picking up another day 2 pick would be best.

Good stuff...thanks for posting
This has me kinda curious who the so-called Parsons or Lamb player(s) Jerry says they wouldn't pass on.

Edit; I'm thinking Stingley, Wilson or Hamilton

I would bet money than Travis Jones has a better career than multiple players in tiers above him...

I'm not up on trade values, but if we were to give up day a couple of those 5th rounders - how far could we move up in the 2nd round ?
I want Travis Jones bad, and he won't be there at #56.
I'd even consider say a next year's #3rd or a #4th if that would do it.

Tier 2: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame (93)

heard he's dropping like a rock
what's the reason though? I just looked at his tape and he takes great angles and looks astounding.

IDK about fit - we just resigned Kearse but he would fit perfectly at FS and maybe not have to take a Day 1 starter position with Hooker resigned as well.

I can't sign Hamilton, Stingley or LB without addressing Edge or G in FA. It's too big of a need at G if we don't pick up someone serviceable (Everyone is gone now) so I can't see how even if someone is sitting there they pivot from oline.

supposedly running a 4.7 in his pro day

This is how I look at WR too. I mean grabbing a guy like Olave or Williams at 24 would be awesome. But what good is Olave if the LG and center blow again and the offense looks discombobulated?

Combo of things. Positional value seems to be the biggest issue. How important is a S? To many teams there just isn't value using a Top 10 pick on a S.

agree, we get a stud WR. ok cool we still can't get him the ball and we're running into the same problems that got Amari kicked off the team.

Ok he can practise, ok he's vaccinated, what happens when the middle of the line collapses and the QB can't even get the ball to the WR because our OC run's curls 12 yards to the sticks but the QB doesn't even have 3 seconds. I totally agree with you we need to address Oline badly

This is what frustrates me about the front office. They do zero in terms of trying to solve holes in FA. They just assume the draft will cure all. If they had signed a competent FA LG, and there were some available for decent contracts, then that frees you up from not having to likely force an interior OL pick in your first 2-3 picks. If you had brought in ZaDarius Smith, he's a very good starter opposite Lawrence and again gives you the flexibility to not have to force a DE pick somewhere early.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when meeting with Stephen, Jerry, McClay and the scouts happen. I'd love to hear Stephen explain why they don't have to sign any FAs that can play at a high level and "fix" a position need.

This times 1000…fix your glaring holes in FA (LG, WR3, DE) and draft the best talent available.

We’ve done fairly well in the draft recently but suck in FA. We should’ve turned over every stone for a LG and we’ve done nothing…also the fact we offered Gregory big money then didn’t go in on someone else and settled for Washington is a joke. We have the money but the strategy is off.

Shoot, fix one of your holes. You don't even have to fix every hole in FA. But they go to the opposite extreme and sign no one to solve a problem. They just sign bodies as safety nets in case they can't draft a guy for that position.

On a positive they’re looking at Zion and Green…if a DE doesn’t fall Id take either over any WR due to the depth of WR in this class.
