Man, lots of guys at positions we need on there. (DT, DE, T, S) Play our cards right and this could be a real strong draft.

There isn't a position we need more than a G or C.

Offensive tackle. Free has been the worst guy we have had. I'd also say nose tackle is pretty high up given ratliffs contract and production and Brent's legal peril.

We need 2 defensive linemen and a minimum of 2 offensive linemen. Some of that has to be done in free agency.

I just don't see the 21 worst teams passing on a QB.

We need two starting Gs and a starting C. It doesn't get more needy than that.

And a starting T. Free and Parnell are not the answer.

And they won't.

This isn't a mock draft, it's Scouts, Inc's top 100 college players available for next year's draft.

They're just ranking players based on talent.

And that's more than we can hope to accomplish in one off-season, IMO.

We might sign a G in free agency, but the C crop looks pretty thin, and that's where I want help the most. Jason Garrett truly seems to believe in Phil Costa, I remain a skeptic and hope to see legit competition to start in the pivot next year.

I'd like to see at least one early round selection (1-3) used on an OL next April as well. The team must prioritize regularly using such picks on big uglies to ensure the offensive line turns from a weakness into a strength.

Trying to fix the starting five isn't enough.

We need to be able to go 8 men deep without turning to one year stopgaps like Derrick Dockery or Montrae Holland.

If this were a projected draft order, then the values I see are:

29 (29) 0 Dallas Thomas OT Tennessee
Can play OT or OG. Very quick.

52 (50) -2 Giovani Bernard* RB North Carolina
Maybe the best RB at 52. Medical needs to check out.

54 (52) -2 Jake Matthews* OT Texas A&M

Obvious at this spot. He's been rated anywhere from
#2 to #54 by the draft media.

68 (48) -20 Barrett Jones OC Alabama
Maybe overrated by some other draft analyst but underrated here.

77 (75) -2 Larry Warford OG Kentucky

Possible Rookie starter in the 3rd round.

78 (77) -1 Brandon Jenkins OLB Florida State
Depends on the specifics of his injury and timetable to return.

80 (80) 0 Brennan Williams OT North Carolina
Shoulder injury, but expected to be ready by the start
of the season.

81 (69) -12 Khaled Holmes OC USC

Very underrated player, IMO. I think he could start day one.

Multiple Safeties in the 2nd/3rd rounds. Is Vaccaro that much better than some of the other guys?

17 (21) 4 Kenny Vaccaro S Texas
38 (40) 2 Matt Elam* S Florida
41 (38) -3 Shawn Williams S Georgia
44 (43) -1 Eric Reid* S LSU
49 (47) -2 Tony Jefferson* S Oklahoma
70 (72) 2 Shamarko Thomas S Syracuse
76 (78) 2 Devonte Holloman S South Carolina
99 () 98 Bacarri Rambo S Georgia

I think he's got Rambo way too low...fwiw.

He's a first round talent...might be a guy we could steal in the second because of the suspension or whatever.

Rambo and his drug issues will remove him from Dallas draft list.

I think Rambo can easily get over the marijuana issue. He only tested positive the one time, and although I don't believe his story that he ate brownies that he didn't know were laced, I think that's a small issue that can easily be resolved. The bottom line is we need Safety help in a bad way. It's been an achilles' heel for us fo too long now. And Rambo in the late 2nd or early 3rd would be a Godsend tbh.

I still think we should trade back if we can and pick up another 2nd or more likely a 3rd rounder since out pick won't be very high anymore. But wither way this is a deep draft at the positions we need, and should try to accumulate as many picks as we can. I wouldn't mind trading a 2nd or 3rd rounder next year wither in order to move up. Get a G, OT, DE, and a S with the first 4 picks.

after this mess with Brent and remembering the problem we almost had with Hurd I think the boys will be VERY sure that no one with either a drug or drinking problem is taken for quite a while
