T.J. Yeldon*, RB, Alabama: 6-1, 226. Shared carries with Eddie Lacy in 2012 before taking on the featured role the past two years. "He's different than Lacy," one scout said. "Lacy's more power. This guy can run with power, but he also has some moves. I'd take Lacy over him. Only question I have on Yeldon, is he beat to hell and back? All those guys down there (Alabama) get beat up." Carried 576 times for 3,322 yards (5.8) and 37 TDs, and caught 46 passes. "He'll go right around 30, 35," said another scout. "He and Gordon will fight for first back. He probably has the best feet of any back in the draft." Ran just 4.61.

I will take this bet,no way he is going before Ajayi or even Coleman,

I have him as my 3rd rated back.

Nice to see anonymous thinks highly of him as well.

the best feet in the draft is easily Gordon,i dont know what that 2nd scout is seeing.Gordon is Shady like with his feet.

I like his size compared to everybody but Gurley. I think that size will help with making him am every down RB.

I like him as a runner but I like more the fact that how he handles himself should be easy for our staff to find out from Saban (if Red really is as close as we're led to believe) because it's hard to know with a lot of these guys. Coleman and Gordon I feel good about as workers.

I like Allen better. I think they're very similar players, but Yeldon drop in productivity in 2014 worries me

Some of that is kiffen being the OC and putting more passes in the play.
I would rather we get a better back but not going to ignore PART of the reason for his totals.

I have 0% interest in Yeldon on this team. His game tape doesn't stand out any more than 10 other RBs I have watched.

Depends what you're looking at.

To me he is the 2nd best in the draft at getting tough yards.

He finishes every single run falling forward.

He reminds me of Demarco but he can actually see space to run in unlike Demarco.

Right now there are 8 teams that seem to have a need at RB...

NE
Clev
Jax
SD
Dal
Car
Atl
TB

I think some are more desperate than others like Jax, Dal and SD.

In other words by the time the Cowboys select in the 3rd round I think there will be a quality back still left... and they won't have to reach for Yeldon (provided the Cowboys did not select one in either rounds 1 or 2).

there are quality backs in this draft even in late RDs and UDFA,we just have to be patient.

I think you're 5 or so teams short of ones that could potentially take a RB. The Cardinals are going to do something to address RB I'd bet, either trade for Peterson which would make the Vikings a RB need, or draft one pretty high. The Jets really don't have a RB worth it on the roster. Baltimore has a 30 year old with one good year to his name. Miami has a back who had good yards last year, but basically hasn't ever been healthy. The Colts need a RB also I'd say.

I could easily see a scenario where the Jets pick on at 37 and then you see 4-5 backs go in the next 25 picks.

Have him clearly 3rd after Gordon and Gurley who is clearly #1 especially when considering his Return ability, Yeldon just fits our squad better than anyone left after the top two.

There's a difference between needing a back and REALLY needing a back.

And almost of them have more pressing needs than at RB.

You could see 4-5 backs go after pick #37, but I wouldn't count on it.

If we do the trade down I've been secretly advocating for, the cowboys would have 2 chances to grab a RB in the 3rd.

They lost their three best runblocking OL and the QB replacement was pretty awful.

They didn't run those power isos and the like. They would try to move the los and similar games instead and when they didn't fool the defense they weren't over powering people. Yeldon still looked fast, shifty, and powerful. He has very good feet and balance. Uses his blocks and makes good decisions. Power translates to his blocking. He is the best blocking rb in this draft for what that is worth.

He doesn't have a lot of experience as a pass catcher beyond flares and screens. Passing teams are going to like Abdullah but I like Yeldon's fit with us.
