With the NFL Draft lurking right around the corner, we went back and YouTubed Darren McFadden this week. Whew, he can motor. However a lot of people are saying he's "got skinny legs" or he's "all speed, no power." Yes, McFadden does look rangy and thinner through the hips. However, we've watched him play several times and he was pretty damn physical when he had to be. Check the nasty stiff arm 20 seconds into this clip to see what we mean.

** Frank Cooney, president of SportsXchange and longtime NFL scout, wrote this about McFadden: "He has the vision and footwork of Marshall Faulk, the big-play ability of Adrian Peterson and an upright-but-effective running style reminiscent of Eric Dickerson." That's a truckload of praise, folks. We could buy the Peterson & Dickerson stuff - McFadden can flat get after it - but Faulk's vision and footwork? We'll see. Faulk matched up with the best ever in those areas. Speaking of Dickerson, if insiders are really comparing him to McFadden then on April 26th Al Davis will pounce with the 4th pick. .

my take is that he could be a great back........... If he cuts down on the fumbles, if he can stay out of trouble and if he is drafted by a team that doesn't pound him into the ground by running exclusively between the tackles and gets him in space and has a good line. All that said, I wouldn't spend a top 7 pick on him and that is probably what it will take to get him. Too many ifs

That nasty stiff arm may draw a flag this year.

Which Barber's agent needs to keep in mind when trying to negotiate his client's contract, IMO.
