OK, so we lose our Head Of Personnel, the guy in charge of Pro Scouting, probably our Asst HC (incl OL), and our Secondary coach. (I think Miami kept their LB coach.)

JJ can fix this.

We can find an OL coach and Secondary coach. And I still think Garrett stays. This is fixable. It's not as bad as SD's position end of 2006 season.

Difference is SD went out and hired the personnel to fix all those positions. Jerry is debating if he even needs to replace Ireland and now lets see what he says about the pro scout.

That was one guy, when he had 2 capable guys to rely on. Of course he will look for some help now.

Good post. Over the past 5 years, we've established what appears to be a great organizational structure. That's not going to disappear because a few guys leave - that's not the way things work. Eventually, if we don't continue to replace them with good people, it will catch up. But right now, there's no need to worry.

I can't fathom how anyone thinks JJ is a lock to fix this. There's no way that a veteran HC with the talent evaluation skills of Parcells is coming. There's no way JJ will hire a GM, and no one of Ireland's ability is likely to come here knowing that JJ insists on retaining himself as GM.

so what other titles exist in the scouting department? maybe we gave ireland a pretty title because of who he was and with him gone, yes - it can be absorbed. if someone else like irelands does come along, make a position for them. but when they go maybe they don't have to be replaced.

I think Jones is going to say alot of things. I also think he is going to do most of those things different than he's sayin right now.

As long as we keep Garrett and Jerry brings in an experienced person (other than Lacewell) to bounce draft stuff off of, I'm not going to freak.

Remember Big Bill's first year? Willie Blade was going to be a star. Parcells had two other DTs he was high on, but none of 'em made a hill of beans difference. We had to get a known quantity- Ferg- to fix the middle rush problem.

This sounds a lot like the people who said a guy like Parcells would NEVER work for Jerry

Come on, MOST of the coaching staff will remain in place. Including the HC and the DC. And I still think Garrett stays. If so, our OC is also in place.

That's not the end of the world!

And of course JJ will find a replacement for Gaines. With Ireland, he was debating the necessity. But of course JJ will have to replace the guy who was in charge of Pro Scouting.

And in terms of players, we ONLY have something like 4 unrestricted FAs - THANKS to JJ.

There's FLO, Davis, Reeves, and Hamlin. And we have enough money to re-sign the guys we want.

We're doing fine . . . .
