not a Philbin fan.
The injuries were the excuse to save his job.
- He made due to keep OL operational enough for the offense to work with Dalton ,
despite the massive injuries.
Basically every regular starter was out (aside from Williams) and despite some questionable moves (not wanting to play McGovern, firm on continuing to start Steele)
..and then even the backups were hit with injuries and missed games Irvin, Biadasz, Knight, Looney.
- I have to give him major kudos for that. And initially when it was announced of his OL coach hire, I had question Philibin as our OL coach vs being an OC.
based on not being an primary OL coach since 2003 and the disasterous job he did when he was Indy OL coach.
Much of the Packers OL success, including unit performance and developing hidden gems went to ex- OL coach James Campen and personnel dept.
- BTW, also credit Wil McClay for providing working backup assets like Looney, Knight and drafting developmental guys like Biadasz and McGovern.
- What happens to the level of the OL should we regain the primary starters again and they regain their high level of play again ?
