SDogo Mock V3 http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178248
ROUND 1 PICK #27 (27 overall)
Mike Iupati OG/OT Idaho
Previous pick (Maurkice Pouncey | OG/OC | Florida)
From every possible scenario this pick makes the most sense. Problem being I'm almost certain some team is going to reach for what some call the next Larry Allen. It's also the one pick I'm certain would convince Jerry to stay at #27 and turn in his card. As the draft creeps closer I find myself a little more convinced that Jerry will be in "deal" mode when they are on the clock. With that said, I have no doubts Iupati is the pick if he's available at #27. I dont see this pick changing in any upcoming mock updates. A lot has been made of the Dez Bryant news and the visit with Golden Tate. I dont put any more into it then Jerry covering all his bases.

Other Options:
Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers
Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
Kyle Wilson CB Boise St
ROUND 2 PICK #27 (59 overall)
Dexter McCluster WR Mississippi
Previous pick (Morgan Burnett | FS | Georgia Tech)
Again, just like Iupati in Round 1 I really believe this is the pick in Round 2 that makes Jerry send the card to the podium. This is really an interesting draft. Dallas could go an number of direction is any round and I believe Jerry will be burning up the phone lines all day. McCluster is a WR, make no bones about it. He has good hands, runs good routes and would only be used at RB is limited packages but there is so much you can do with him. Those of you that want a returner, have some patience. As his college coach said, it's not that the kid cant return kicks and be dynamic at it, it was just that Mississippi depended so much on him they could not risk the wear and tear on special teams.

Other Options:
Chris Cook, CB/FS, Virginia
Sean Lee, ILB, Penn St
Thaddeus Gibson, OLB, Ohio St
ROUND 3 PICK #26 (90 overall)
Amari Spievey CB Iowa
Previous pick (Carlton Mitchell | WR | South Florida)
Amari has everything the Cowboys require in a CB. Wade Phillips looks for CB's that can not only cover but they must tackle well to make this defense run. He will need some work with his hands, he is a little more comfortable in a zone defense but loves contact and being physical so it should be an easy transition. This kid simply loves to hit and get involved in the action. His INT numbers were not that impressive but that is simply because teams refused to throw to his side of the field. He also offers the type of support you want in the run game. May be more of a fit for the "Star Position" then Scandrick.

Other Options:
Navarro Bowman OLB Penn St
Mike Neal DT/DE Purdue
Dorrin Dickerson TE/FB Pittsburgh
ROUND 4 PICK #27 (122 overall)
Marshall Newhouse OG/OT TCU
Previous pick (Lamarr Houston|DT|Texas)
Yes I believe Jerry will draft two Offensive Lineman in this draft. I think even Jerry feels we have our future LT in Free but both OG positions as well as RT are up in the air. They have no idea what they have in Brewster but for now it seems he is staying at RT, Holland will not likely make the roster and I think Dallas is ready to give up on the McQuistan experiment. Procter has nine lives and for some reason Dallas loves him as a back up because of his versatility but it's time to shuffle the roster. Newhouse showed his versatility at the East/West game lining up at LT, LG, RG and RT and dominating at all 4. Marshall is nasty and the type of lunch pail, hard working, play to the whistle every team wants.

Other Options:
Arthur Moats OLB James Madison
Larry Asante SS Nebraska
Garrett Graham FB/TE Wisconsin
ROUND 6 PICK #27 (186 overall)
John Conner FB Kentucky
Previous pick (Chris Scott| OT | Tennessee)
I'll admit, if the name alone was not enough to get your attention the highlight video posted here on the Zone should of been. It would be against my nature to take such a video at face value so I wanted to see what the kid did wrong as well so I emailed Eric Lindsey at Kentucky who was nice enough to pull some strings and get me some game film. What I saw was a FB who does not use his hands as well as you would like, leaves his feet when blocking a little too much, is stiff in the hips and runs a little high but also saw a mean streak, a guy who not only blocks his man but take him out all together, a player who's game speed is much better then is track speed, A FB who has great hands, a dangerous short yardage back and player who will get it done all day on special teams. Crickets days are numbered, Conner would become an instant fan favorite and major part of almost every aspect of the Cowboys football team.

Other Options:
Roddrick Muckelroy OLB Texas
Danario Alexander WR Missouri
Larry Hart OLB Central Arkansas
ROUND 7 PICK #26 (217 overall)
Cameron Sheffield OLB/DE Troy
Previous pick (Stephen Virgil | CB | Virginia Tech)
Sheffield has seen his stock drop over the last month. Some teams are concerned about his ability to transition to a OLB from DE at Troy. He is undersized for a 3-4 DE and maybe even for a 4-3 DE. He does not have great speed but what he does have his a ability to get to the QB and do it often. His game speed is much better then his track speed, his character is impeccable and he showed flashes of athletic ability and coverage skills at the Senior Bowl that most thought he did not possess. He will be a project, will have to prove he can contribute on special teams and may find his way onto a practice squad unless he develops faster than most think but could be a pick and a investment that pays off.

J'Marcus Webb OT West Texas A&M
Josh Hull ILB PSU
Reggie Carter ILB UCLA
The first 3 rounds of this draft are a dream scenario for Jerry IMO and if everything fell into place the staff should quickly run to the nearest 7/11 to buy their lottery tickets.
I really believe Jerry would love to address the ILB or OLB position early if the right person falls. Brandon Spikes in round 2 may be a possibility with his recent work outs but not over a Dexter McCluster if he falls. They seem to be showing a lot of interest in Penn St LB Navarro Bowman and ILB Sean Lee. I think if either of them are there in Round 3 Jerry may be tempted to pull the trigger.
Those of you wanting a safety in this draft will be disappointed with this mock. I think Jerry and Wade have other plans and it's not a position of high priority going into the draft as much as finding a DB that is versatile and physical but if the opportunity presents itself I do think they would take advantage of it.
Overall I still have a hard time wrapping my head around any mock that does not have Jerry moving all over the place in this draft but trades are hard to predict and often unrealistic. By the time this draft is over I would be truly surprised if Dallas did not pick up 2 or 3 extra picks. Analyzing the players they are interested in, the projected draft positions and knowing Jerry. We could be in a for a fun and wild ride.

OTHER COMMENTS
Jerry's focus in this draft is to improve the front 7 on defense and the OL. His second goal is to add more play making ability to offense and special teams and try to do it all in one pick.
