I've suggested that it would be more effective for some fans to sacrifice themselves in public to bring attention to the cause. It would get much more news coverage than a silly sign or banner.

They could go with Hari-Kari (Seppuku) and go out like a Samurai. Another option would be the method of the monks in Tibet who go with self-immolation.
