ARLINGTON — What has made Sean Lee such a valuable asset during his career is his anticipation and mental acuity. Lee can see plays before they materialize and react more quickly than most defenders as a result. It gives him an edge at a level of football where the talent differential is infinitesimal.

A neck injury knocked him out of the final three games of the 2013 campaign, and nearly six months after that setback, he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee — killing his 2014 season before it even began.
So Lee was curious how he’d react once he was reacquainted with the sport he has routinely played faster than his peers.
