Sean Lee Tackling Style

LVE needs to be attached to his hip for the next 2-3 years.

I'm not a big fan of PFF's rating systems but I do think they can count buckets. They have a stat called run stop %. It is basically where if a run comes to a LB then they say he either makes a stop within 2 yards of the los or doesn't. You take the stops and divide it by the total runs and you get the efficiency stat.

He was the most efficient run stop % LB according to their rankings. IOW, he was better at stopping runs that came to him at 2 yards or less than anyone in the NCAA. On top of that he forced 4 fumbles and had 9 TFL. This notion that LVE was getting pancake blocked and running away from plays to dodge blockers constantly is ignorant spin on what people have read from scouting reports. He will fill a hole and finish consistently.

Lee is violent to the ball and a good, fundamental tackler.

This is a good point.

A linebacker doesn’t need to be a vicious hitter to be a great player. They need to use sound fundamentals to effectively get the be carried down.
