He probably saved Lee from himself. Probably was gonna get hurt again.
Unless Lee replaces Jaylon, what’s the point of playing him? He played in place of LVE this last game.
ronnie Lott did pretty well..even had shot at HC but is far better DC..maybe ... in due time, once Lee finally decides to retire as a player and after he seizes and sells as a position coach first.
is there a notable NFL player of and name that immediately became a DC after retiring as a player ?
i mean don't the more notable ex-players eventually turn DCs' start out as excellent positions coaches first ?
Ala Jack Del Rio,
Dennis Thurman,
Jerry Gray,
Jim haslett,
Leslie Frazier
Mike Vrabel,
Mike Zimmer
Tony Dungy
Herm Edwards
Ron Rivera
Ron Marinell
George Edwards
Kris Richard
Don't these guys usually start out as a position coach first...before eventually move into a DC role ?
lol right and fans around here get up in arms quickly over stupid stuff..A guy coming off hernia surgery would have to be eased back in. The guys played pretty well.. giving Lee's body another week to heal up is not the worst possible outcome
Most of the board would rather have a corpse out on the field then Jaylon. Derrick on the Break thinks the starters should be Sean Lee and LVE. It’s like fans and the media know more then the Cowboys staff.Michael Gehlken

Cowboys LB Sean Lee played four snaps last Sunday vs. Eagles in season debut. That was less work than coaches planned. DC Mike Nolan: "I think that was an error on our part." This week vs. Steelers will be different. "We'll try to get him more snaps than that

Per 105.3 the Fan Radio - Brian Broaddus twice commented that he supposedly heard that Sean Lee and DC Mike Nolan may have had a brief disagreement on the sidelines.
Broaddus also commented that he thought he saw Lee slightly limping off after just 4 plays.
He doesn't know if the brief coach/player discussion was maybe over limited playing time
or question over the defense.
Stay tuned to watch what transpires with Lee and the coaches on the sidelines ..and Lee on the playing field.
I was joking. I'm not even sure Like would ever be a good coach. He does much of what he does on instinct, which obviously can't be taught. Maybe he could teach technique and maybe he'd develop a good scheme, but we have no reason to think he'd be good at any of that.
He was player-coach for the Giants. He was asked to explain the flex defense to the D and it took off from there.I could be wrong but I think Tom Landry actually went right from player to DC.. In fact I seem to recall stories that he was actually the DC while still playing.. but I'd have to look it up.
It is an epic story of the history of the GB vs Dallas rivalry. That Giants team frequently competed for the title.Yep.. I can confirm that Landry was indeed the DC of the Gmen his last two years as a player in '54 and '55. Get this.. he was all-pro in '54. WHILE coordinating his own defense that only gave up 15 points a game. .. Coach Landry was such a baller. And the OC on those teams was Vince Lombardi? Are you kidding me!?!
They planned limited reps anyway - sounds like it was dialed back a lot.A guy coming off hernia surgery would have to be eased back in. The guys played pretty well.. giving Lee's body another week to heal up is not the worst possible outcome

sorry brain fart oopswhen has Ronnie Lott been a DC... or any position coach in the NFL ...?
It could be Nolan saw he might not should have been playing..If that blow up caused Nolan to keep Lee on the sidelines, yeah that's a pretty big deal.
On the surface me neither.Never like this hire.
Lee strikes me as a coach type playerFire Nolan, hire Lee as DC.
I don't know that this is a big deal. Emotions run hot on NFL sidelines.. Even hotter when you're losing. It's to be expected really. I'd be more concerned if there WEREN'T any blowups.
How does one "supposedly hear" a conversation? You either heard it or you didn't. Broaddus is full of it. Disgruntled employee.Michael Gehlken
