Sean Lee

I honestly don't think we need to replace Bradie at all. He is a rock against the run, and he's a leader on the D. What we need is our other ILB to be that playmaker who can get picks and fly around the field, and Lee can be that guy. You don't need 2 super stud ILBs, you just need 1 and then the other guy is just a grinder who stops the run, which is Bradie to a T.

Watching him yesterday on the plays where he didn't make the pick, you can just see how instinctive and smart he is. He reacts quickly and flies to the ball in a big way.

Of course the coaches see that Brooking is slowing down, but fans still have to be patient with developinig rookies. Lee may be starting to play better now because at this point he may be getting more comfortable with his duties aned more acclimated to the NFL in general.

I agree. He's going to make mistakes. I just like seeing him in there more and more. I really like the LB rotation they have going on right now. It's been a long time coming. Another one of my pets is Victor Butler, and he's getting more playing time now too. This is a good thing for all of our LB's.

I agree. The split of playing time yesterday seemed like a good way to go.

Anybody able to post a video of that huge hit Lee laid on one Colts receiver coming across the middle? You should've heard it in the stadium. I think that's the hit he messed up his shoulder on. I definitely heard something crack :)

Thanks in advance to anyone who posts the clip. (BB, I'm looking at you)

I agree with this.

Fans are always impatient with players development.

Probably partly b/c some of the most fun a fan can have is watching a young player blossom. So if a guy gets off to a slow start they begin to panic and want to see something quickly. Yearning for the euphoria of a Lee pick 6 or Dez anything 6

I feel the same. I was really happy with the play of Lee and think he is being worked into the line up at the right speed. With many rookie players you have to take the good with the bad, yesterday was a good day how patient will some be after a bad day?

This.

Bradie is still a solid LB for us. I don't see what everyone has against him, but the guy makes plays, is solid against the run, hits hard. Honestly the only flaw i see in his game is he's somewhat of a liability in man coverage. Any decent coach would be able to devise a gameplan that doesn't put him in man coverage situations. He would be even better with a true solid NT and a playmaking LB next to him. I think Lee can definately be that guy, but he needs to prove he can stay on the field and avoid injuries and continue to improve.

Can we get Bradie James replaced next?

Actually, it looked to me that Lee was replacing him much of the time. I noticed Lee and Brooking out there a few times with no James.

I don't recall exactly where I read it, but J.Will was supposed to be Brooking's backup and Lee was supposed to be Bradie's backup.

But with both starting linebacker's banged up and now their backup is banged up, the Cowboys are trotting out a M.A.S.H. linebacker unit on game days.

You are correct.

I'd rather have Lee and Brooking on the field than any combination that includes James honestly. They give us the best chance against the pass. James is better against the run than Brooking, but he's not covering anyone. I'll take the hit in run defense for better pass coverage.

James is fine in zone coverage. Its just man coverage that is his big weakness honestly.. and any decent coach can make a gameplan limiting his time in man coverage.

The only reason you didn't see James more yesterday, imo, is because the Colts can't, and don't even attempt to run the ball at all really. Against teams with a good or even average run game, you'll see him and Lee together alot more im sure.

I thought James had a tremendous game yesterday. It was one of his most physical performances I've seen in a while.

I'm not sure why people want to rush Lee on the field. This is in all likelihood Brooking's last season. The season is toast, let Lee continue to work himself onto the field.

I thought the entire ILB group played well yesterday - Brooking, James and Lee. Lee made the big impact plays, but they all made some plays.
