As long as his health permits, Lee will usually get a jump on plays with that astute recognition that he's so renowned for. He doesn't appear to be letting up, so keep your eyes peeled for him on defense. He's about as good as it gets at his position in my book. He should have a few more good years left, as long as his health permits it. He's 30 years of age, so you decide. ;)

2-3 years imo. I wouldn't be made if Dallas looked to draft his replacement ASAP.

If it wasn't for the injuries I wouldn't even entertain the idea of replacing him right now.

I love the guy but it seems as though he lost about a half a step last year. His anticipation makes him a great player. I would think we've got at least 2 years to find a replacement and another year or two to transition.

I keep drooling over the prospects of this LB corp if all are healthy...minimally, for 3+ years they can be dynamic with a healthy group

I'm not sure an upgrade for the 2016 version of Lee exists.

Probably not.

He would probably be looked at as the best 4-3 linebacker in football if he could've stayed healthy during his career. We may never replace him.

Jaylon could be a great linebacker but I view him more as a Von Miller type then I do a Sean Lee.

Lee has another 2-3 good years left so spending the resources to replace him isn't a priority. That will take a premium draft pick and the Cowboys will have higher needs between now and then.

With all of his injuries, Sean Lee is still in pretty unscathed condition compared to other LBs his age that have been run through the ringer for twice as long.

A guy hits 30 and way too many are chomping at the bit to replace him. Believe me, the staff will see the handwriting on the wall when the time is right to consider drafting his replacement. The depth we currently have is better than we've had in years, so no need to jump the gun here.

2-3 years. After that, he could fill the role of the MLB and spend more time focusing on just the run.

MLB is a physically more demanding position. They moved him away from that position in part to help reduce the wear and tear on his body.

we need to be looking at drafting a new LBer IMO

I think it is probably a need position going into this next draft unless some of the guys we have drafted previously develop soon.

No one is suggesting he is on his way out yet but time marches on. No one expected the first preseason game last year to be the end of Romo either, but that's what happened last year. It just happened that we had really good depth at QB last year, we just didn't know it going into the season.

Jaylon may end up being Lee's replacement rather than his side kick. I'm hoping that doesn't happen to us this year at LB. it would be great to have Jaylon play beside Lee as General Lee II.

Lost a step? He had the best season of his career and was All Pro
Which has everything with play recognition, anticipation, and prep. Some of the best LB's in history weren't the fastest players. Lee was a touch slower reaching the outside in coverage last year.
