Plays like Sean Lee. His mini-me. Same height and weight but faster. Check out LB Logan Wilson and tell me what you think? 3rd or 4th rounder?

LB Logan Wilson is #30 in the video highlights...

Ultimately, draft position doesn't mean all that much, but why exactly should we see a player expected to go in the third or fourth round as a replacement for one who went in the mid-second only because of injury?

i'm not giving up a premium 3rd round pick for a strong side LB. that's gotta be a guy that's on the field at all times, ..and generally we're not likely to see
strong side LBs on the field in nickel downs.

If a Logan Wilson drops in the 4th maybe ... otherwise i'm really wanting to fill that heir apparent in the late rounds such as the 5th round, with one of our
two 5th round picks. Fourth would be the highest i'm targeting a pick for the strong side LB.
But i'd prefer a 5th rounder for a groomer.

Did you see the video? Read his combine numbers and accumulated college playing stats I posted? The young man can play, and he plays much like Sean Lee.

Then why isn't he rated higher?

There's a reason why one player is rated as a first-round pick and another is a third- or fourth-rounder, and that difference generally has to do with ability. You want to point me to a first-round player as a replacement for Lee, I'll buy that. A third- or fourth-rounder? If we get lucky.

I like Logan Wilson. Would be happy to have him in a Cowboy uniform next year.

Been hearing more bout him, I like what I’ve seen seems like he’s going up draft boards!

Maybe because Wyoming is a smaller school that plays in a weaker conference, compared to Penn State where Sean Lee played? Why are you complaining? Being able to grab Logan Wilson in the 3rd or 4th rounds would be a steal.

he is worth noting.
solid player.

several LBs i like...he's one.
also...
Jordyn Brooks,Tx Tech

Logan Wilson is an interception machine. He would be great playing as 1 of 2 LBs in a nickle defense. That would make him capable of playing all 3 downs.

Not complaining, just being realistic. If he's a "steal" in the third or fourth round, that's great. If he goes in the third or fourth round and turns out to be an OK starter or backup, that's fairly typical. If he goes in the third or fourth round and washes out, that's about as probable as him becoming a Pro Bowl-caliber player ... maybe even more so.

Maybe I'm cynical. I've seen too many mid-round players who were highly touted that just at best ended up as minor role players in this league. We all hope that our third- and fourth-rounders turn out like Jason Witten and Dak Prescott, but they are often just Tyrone Crawfords or Dorance Armstrongs and sometimes they're Chaz Greens and Charles Tappers.

To put it another way, in the past 10 years, we've drafted two players in the third or fourth round who made a Pro Bowl (DeMarco Murray and Dak Prescott). That's out of 22 players. Nearly half of the players we drafted in those rounds (10) didn't do much of anything in their careers. The other 10 were starters at times or key reserves.

The good news would be that we've had our most luck with linebackers in those rounds (Hitchens, Damien Wilson and Kyle Wilber). Well, maybe RB first (Murray, Pollard) or QB since we've only drafted one in any round in the past 10 years.

I hear you loud and clear bro, but just watch some film on this kid. He can play, has stayed healthy all 4 years of college, has good build with very good athletic ability, is a tackling matching and is also very good a catching interceptions. Oh, he's also very smart (study wart both on and off the field) and a proven leader.
