with and without zeke
this is if passing game does not make big improvement
i suspect a big improvement in the passing game would mean more than zeke

3 games in the 1st 10 games where zeke should be relevant
4 games in week 11-17 where zeke should be relevant.

game--------------------with zeke-------------without zeke and without a big improvement in passing
giants--------------------easy win---------------easy win
Commanders----------------easy win--------------- win
dolphins-----------------easy win---------------easy win
saints--------------------slight dog--------------underdog
packers-----------------slight advantage-------even
jets------------------------easy win----------------win
eagles-------------------even--------------------slight underdog
giants-------------------- easy win----------------easy win
vikings--------------------slight advantage------even
lions-----------------------advantage------------slight advantage

---------------zeke should return by week 11--------------------

pats ----------------------slight underdog---------underdog
bills-------------------------easy win----------------easy win
bears -----------------------even-------------------slight underdog
rams-----------------------slight underdog---------underdog
eagles---------------------even----------------------slight underdog
Commanders------------------easy win------------------win

I'll go out on a limb

The difference might be a game.

Granted, that game could be the difference between making or not making the playoffs.

I think expectations should be pretty similar with and without Zeke. The team is better with Zeke, no question, but the overall roster is as deep as we've seen it in years. If this team cant win without Zeke we have other issues. Either dak isnt progressing, the defense has regressed from a year ago, or jason garrett loses his job this off season.

Outside of the qb position a single injury/holdout should not effect this teams chances.

there is an improvement with zeke.
though half that improvement could be nullified with trading for a decent proven 2nd tier rb

More importantly. What do you think the rams will do this year

If Zeke doesn't return until week 10, I'd say bench him and plan on trading him in the off-season.

it depends on our record
dont cut off our nose to spite the face
use him like a commodity to the best interest of the team

With Zeke we go 14-2 win the superbowl, w/o we go 2-14 and cut half the team and new coach firesales and rebuild. ;)

This is exactly how I feel as well.

The Cowboys need to stop being a "single point of failure" team, where missing one player - no matter how good they are - derails the entire season.

Other teams overcome player losses all the time, do we need to bring up the Eagles' player losses during their Super Bowl run? Didn't think so.

Dallas needs to become that well-stocked, talented, well-coached team that is not undone by the loss of a single player.

If Garrett and Co manage to expose their player reliance once again, it's the final nail in the coffin and shows everyone implicitly that a better staff is necessary.

I think this is a good team and even better once Zeke returns. I like Pollard and has shown a lot in the few carries he has gotten 15 total carries and while I'm excited about his future I know there is a big difference between 15 pre season carries and a regular season game let alone a 16 game season.

I think Zeke is dynamic enough of a player that he could turn a couple close losses into decent wins. 10-6 without, 12-4 with.

He’s a “game changing” talent.

Don't preclude the signing of a RB not currently on the roster.

It's simple. Unless one of the other backs step up, we will not make the playoffs and the season will suck.

Agree.

Zeke isn't being replaced by anyone.

Jerry...get your checkbook out. They longer you wait, the more leverage Zeke has.

See Emmitt in 1993.
