Hell. This is the worst season I can ever remember going through.

I was there for the 1-15 season and it was bad, but at least you knew that progress was being made and we had a lot of young, energetic, talented players who were a couple years away from being great.

I was there through the Campo years and salary cap hell. Even then, as bad as we were, it seemed easier to accept because we were coming off the salary cap hits of high dollar players and we simply had not talent. It always felt like I had something to look forward to from week to week, in spite of Quincy Carter. I knew that we were rebuilding and the SuperBowl wins were only a few years prior.

But this. This is something worse than I could have ever imagined. It's not just the losing part, but the way we are losing. The repetetive penalties, the tipped balls that are always intercepted, the constant missed assignments on the O-line and the defensive backfield. The fumbles at the worst times possible. The smiling on the sidelines after bad plays. The player and his autograph session with the dog killer. The Swiss Cheese defense that can play great all game long, then not be able to stop anything with the game on the line. Gurode's weekly bad snap that at least kills a drive, if it doesn't result in a turn over or TD for the opposing team.

Then you have the injuries. Romo misses most of the season. Bryant, who was really starting to show us something...out for the season. Lee cannot stay healthy. Newman seems to always be on the edge of injury. Felix hobbles off the field every other play.

The bad luck never stops either. I mean, how many interceptions have we had that have been tipped by either our receiver or their D-lineman? It has to be double digits off our receivers hands alone.

Who has seasons this bad? I have never seen anything quite like it. It redefines Murphy's Law altogether.

Then when you think you have seen everything go wrong that can go wrong, we finally drive the field for a probable win, and the kicker misses the extra point, costing us the game. You just cannot write this stuff. It bends the boundries of probablity.

What next. I truly expect us to get killed next week to finally put the nail in the coffin. I don't see anyway we show up next week. I just don't. The bags will be packed and there is no way players like Davis are going play hard next week. I just don't see it.

That being said, I don't like Garretts chances. He will be 4-4 on the season, and although he has done a pretty good job, I don't think it will be enough. I think the calls for Cowher and Gruden will be heard and I think Jones will go for the big guy.

Unfortunately for Garrett, it's going to be like a top ten college football team losing a game late as opposed to early. It's going to leave a terrible taste in Jones' mouth and I think it will motivate him to go big and make some major changes roster wise. He will not have much of a choice.

As for the season, it just cannot end soon enough and I think it will be even uglier next week, with some of our laziest players bags already packed.

The season from Hell is almost over, and I can honestly say that I just cannot see a season being as bad as this one for a long, long time.

I'm done and I do feel better for now.....

I've came to the conclusion that this season will wind up being the best thing to ever happen to this organization.

Spot on. This season has been a nice hard punt to the gonads.

You may be right. As much as I like Garrett, I think Jerry needs to consider someone with no strings attached to any of these players. Someone who can watch the film and truly evaluate every player just on what they do on the field, without ever meeting them in person. That's the only way you can get a true evalutation with out some degree of personal feelings entering the picture.

For example, Gruden does not know Spencer. If he sits down and looks at film of Spencer, he can make a decision on Spencer strictly from the film, without ever knowing him personally.

Garrett cannot do that. Garrett probably knows his mom, if he's married, and may or may not have personal feelings one way or another for him. He cannot truly evaluate him strictly on play.

It would give Jerry a chance to truly have this team evaluated from the "on the field only" standpoint, which is what we need.

The team is evaluated by independent scouts on a weekly basis right now, that's in addition to the teams own scouting department and coaches. What I question is how much weight is given to the outside evaluation as compared to the in-house evaluation?

Just with the injuries to this team it's almost like the season was cursed. Romo goes down, Dez goes down, Ogletree goes down, Roy goes down, etc.
