I love football and the Cowboys, I get out of line sometimes and I apologize for that.....I coached for a living and worked 90 hours a week during the season because it paid my bills. The Cowboys are a way to chill and relax. I appreciate the banter, the Mods and this Forum. Gregory, Jaylon, Dak,Zeke and Lamb are gonna kill it this year. I believe in MM and Quinn.....Salud!

@Ranching, do you prefer going to the games or watching them on TV. I have been to a ton of Cowboys games both in the new stadium and Texas Stadium in Irving. It's a different experience for sure actually going to the game but I must confess if it's an important game I enjoy the game itself, more in my own man cave. The fan reaction at games makes it worth it to me to go to an average game, the wife and I just enjoy the interaction with the other fans. What's your preference?

I actually like them on tv....I normally watch the games by myself. My wife is a Texas grad and I bought season tickets when I retired, I enjoyed the pregame in the private club, but I couldn't enjoy the games. Couldn't focus and had several fans around me that wouldn't shut up... one was about 5 ft tall and kept griping and yelling.....I ripped him new one, once and he left....his wife actually thanked me.

@Ranching - I am curious to know as well. You have coached teams to winning seasons. Also if you watch a game in person can you detach yourself and just enjoy the game? Or are you always watching as a coach?

I always tend to look at the little things, like blocking, angles of pursuit, techniques etc.....I normally like to have a few drinks just to enjoy the game....that's why I get a bit surly

Yeah I can see that and know that is how I would be if I were a coach.

I, for one, really appreciate your upbeat (and, yes, I consider "Garrett Sucks" as upbeat) posts and "Game Day Menu" threads.

More than that, I appreciate your insights as a former coach. I played college football, but was never a "coach on the field". I knew my assignments and those of my fellow DB's and, I took pride in my technique. My shortcomings were lack of speed (typical timed with a sundial) and size (never weighed more than 185). I was a "lot of heart" player.

Long story to say I never looked the Cowboy's games through the intimate lense of a coach. So, thanks for the insights

@Ranching appreciation day! Who's with me??!

That's cool! You made my day, amigo!

I was wondering if you got banned yesterday. I tried to PM but it wouldn't go through.

The game day menu threads are by far the best threads on the board.
