It’s a devastating loss for me and my ego. I knew after the first quarter we were in for a fight. After the half I had that bad feeling in my stomach.

We had no big plays to build on. Our Defense did not get the turn overs and put points on the board. Could not get off the field and gave up ALOT of yards rushing. LVE looked like someone paid him off to slow down. Comparing his first 2 games to Sundays he looked different.

The refs certainly were not in our favor. A few bad calls or non calls. Should have been PI on Gallup. I think they threw the flag and then picked it up.

BUT… Our Offense looked sluggish. In a game when we knew cards were going to put points on the board and they saw the way our Defense was playing. They knew it was gonna be a shootout but we’re not very aggressive.

I hate to say this or think this and it’s still early in the season but I have a feeling we saw our Offense. I mean as far as opening up the playbook up. We needed to open it up and move the ball. I saw no real deep shots or trying to stretch their defense. We made some plays but didn’t do enough. And there towards the end MM is running the ball instead of passing it. And when we needed that play Dak had a play with not enough places to go. He throws into triple coverage. I have seen him slip these passes in but it got picked. He should have scrambled with that one IMO. Going for it on 4th down instead of kicking the FG. Showed MM didn’t have the confidence in the Defense on that day.

I am giving benefit of the doubt for this game. We were missing 3 starters on O-Line. Let’s hope given more time Dak could have gotten off more passes and yards and we could have ran better. I was happy to see Cooks make some plays and especially Gallup, he had me worried. Also Luepke got some plays. Looked good.
I felt the same way during and after the game, I always do after a loss.

All simple situational obvious reasons why we didnt open it up. Theres not a chance in hell what you saw is our offense.

we say this every year. The hype wears off quickly, then reality rears its head. We win a bunch then shiet the bed. That said, hey..maybe this year is different meh.

Everyone needs to relax because we easily have 3+ more to watch. Against who? We shall see, but this is pro football. Things happen in the pros. Teams show up and others don’t, with that said we need to be a little better around here with how we handle losses!

The season is young, but if the Cowboys were to slip up against New England on Sunday, this could end up being a very long season. The last thing we need is to be riding a two game losing streak into San Francisco. However, I do think the Cowboys will be ready to play this Sunday, but that doesn’t assure a victory.

I refuse to look for positives in a loss to the Cardinals.

It was a bad game, to be sure, for the Cowboys. However, there were a few bright spots in that game. Spots that I think the coaches can use. One, the first half was awful on defence, but the second half was better. Sadly, the damage was done. Secondly, when they weren't getting mugged, we had some good deep passes going. Would've been nice if we'd carried on with that. The Cardinals DBs were a bit of a weakness. We really should have exploited it more. Luepke showed that FB dives are back. That's about it on the positives, but those are things the coaches can use.

As funny as it sounds I’m starting to think this cardinals loss WAS the positive. Going in hungry vs New England and beating bellichick AGAIN only to play the 49ers after they may be feeling good. Then again, a loss to New England would leave them hungry for the 49ers. Watch them beat or come within 7 to a win and this community will turn on a dime and talk about the positives in the 9ers loss.

I agree, plus, it can be good to have a bit of a humbling experience early. It'd have been nice to win the game, but the team may not have learned the lesson had they won it. Plus, it'd have felt like a loss anyway. Now, the coaches have to explore every bit of the team and find the weaknesses and what went well. Then, adjust to them.

I always prefer it when they learn their lesson in the first half, adjust and come out to win the game in the second half. I guess we can't have everything :muttley:

As I posted in another thread, the SB winning 90's teams lost to bad teams in the regular season.
It's freaking week 3. We won't really know what kind of team we really have until after Turkey Day.
Nah, the next three games before the bye week will tell us a lot.

Patriots
Niners
Chargers

Comparing this team to teams who proved they could win titles is just rationalizing. The current group of Cowboys have a different track record until proven otherwise.

Not really. We can lose all three and it won't mean anything. Go look at how Niner's season went last year. They were 3-4 in week 7 then they didn't lose a game till the NFC championship game.

I've seen too many teams that start out great only to fizzle out and teams that start out bad then end up peaking at the right time at the end of the season.

They won 13 games last year and this team is better than that one.

This team will make the playoffs in part, cuz the conference kinda stinks. Also, they should be able to perform more consistently on both O and D lines. They do well there, they will do well overall. The Cards game stunk, but there is no more NFL and Cowboy thing, then to lose to a tanking Cards.

Relax and recover. This is the beginning of the rollercoaster and we will see more terrible losses, and glorious wins.

12 wins still.

I'm telling you. It was.

And, by week 8, people are going to be talking about the Cards as contenders. They're not a bad team. Not at all.

Better than the Giants were last year when everyone said I was loco for saying they'd be around in January.

Same for the Cards.

Tough team.
