In the last 3 years we have only had 3 games that Dallas knew they had to win or the season was over.
Not to say all games are not big until things are sewn up one way or the other, but here were the results.

2016
Similar to 2014, this season was so good that this situation didn't even come up until the playoffs
Result: Lost to Green Bay in a close one 31-34

2017
Week 16 vs Seattle. Dallas had to win to stay alive, and would need help as well.
Result: Lost to Seattle 12-21

2018
Again, this situation did not come up until the playoffs
Result?

I felt like we shoulda beat them last year.
we left alotta plays out there beyond the Dez fumble and not running Zeke at the goal-line.
I thought we could've beat them up there this year but we had way too many turn-overs.

our defense is better this time.
our run game is in sync.
Dak is better...especially protecting the ball.
their run game is better.
their defense is what it always is.
can we make stops on third down?
can we cash in on red-zone trips?
I just think our defense is gonna make some plays that put us in position to win this game...and I think Dak,Zeke,Cooper and Beasley make enuff plays to clinch it.
we cannot revert back to last season and earlier this season....shooting our selves in the foot,turn-overs,etc....we do that crap vs a good team we go home.
backs to the wall.
no room for error.
one game season.
this defense...this run game...I just think we win.
we do just enuff to get it done.

I think if you look at it..

we have an advantage.

Having played them earlier this year..

we have some recent experience on them.

We know it's difficult to win 2 in a row from the same team in the same year.

I think the coaches have been preparing for a couple of weeks now.

We will see.

Given this is in ATT..

even more MOJO for us.

Biggest thing is to not start out slow like we usually do.

Wilson throws deep about every series.

More against us.

Seattle is a good team but very beatable, especially on the road. They have only 2 wins against teams with a winning record and one of those was us when we struggled early in the year. The other is the Vikes. They do not have a win against a good team on the road all year and barely squeaked out the 2 of 3 wins they have on the road this year, one at Carolina by 3, AZ by 3 and Detroit, who they did best handily on the road. We are 7-1 at home this year. While it will be tough hard fought game, I expect us to win the game.

Yes, I agree. The Cowboys should beat Seattle in Dallas, especially being a "revenge game".

They run a lot, so controlling Russell and not getting beat deep will be key. This game is all about the Cowboy safeties...Heath needs to have a big game.

Heath seems to be just a hair away on getting a pic.
usually...as the season comes to an end...is when 38 starts making noise.
perfect time.
I think Heath is due for one of those...where did he come from...type play.
maybe Im wrong...we'll see...but 38 is due.

If we can minimize dumb penalties on offense, and hopefully the refs aren’t too damn biased, we can and should win this game. If it becomes a flag fest because of us, offense and or defense, look for a long day.

agreed.
I figure we will ALWAYS have to play that swamp-hagg goodell and his minions.
but if we limit the dumb stuff...dumb penalties,turn-overs...our defense gives us more than a chance...not just Saturday Night...but thru out.

Redball - your writing style is unique - like you're always in haiku. I find myself trying to make it rhyme or fit the cadence. Makes it fun - props to you.

This team has had a habit of making a short story long. Several games that should have been a win or not been as close as they were because of penalties. Seahawks also don't get many called against them it seems

Pretty sure Kansas City has a winning record.

There won't be an easy win from here on out but we have shown over the past 7 games that we can beat anyone if we play up to our best. We aren't a team that has a great deal of room for error but we have the talent on the team to beat any of the teams in the tournament.

Throw out the records, anyone could win no matter how they got into the playoffs.

you're right, I missed that one but it was at home for Seattle. 3 wins over teams with a winning record and all 3 came in their home stadium.
Home field is a big deal with them. Glad its in Dallas
Fwiw, few NFL teams beat many teams with winning records on the road.

The Eagles acratched out a winning record due to a week 17 win
If not for that, Dallas wouldnt haven beaten one either.

I get it. But at the same time, I was just pointing out that Seattle is not a "great" team on the road.. We are 7-1 at home and this game is at home so I think we have the advantage.

I hear you.
And I like our chances too
