Seattle Seahawks don't seem to be too upset about losing Hamlin

Came across below article from Seattle Times which indicates the Seahawks don't appear to be upset at all with not resigning Hamlin. Apparently they hold him responsible for some big TDs back in 2006. Isn't that the year he was coming back from his head injury? I believe back in 2005 they were very pleased with his play. Frankly, I'm inclined to think his play might have probably suffered in 2006 cause of residue from head injury. Anyway, just is just FYI.

Dallas re-signed safety Ken Hamlin, giving him a six-year contract that totals $39 million. The Associated Press reports the deal includes a $9 million signing bonus and about $15 million Hamlin is guaranteed to see. A link to the full story is right here.
Hamlin left the Seahawks for Dallas in 2007, but only after Seattle had signed Deon Grant and Brian Russell in a single 24-hour span. That made it clear the Seahawks were upgrading the safety play.
Well, Hamlin went to Dallas, made the Pro Bowl his first season as a Cowboy and now has a big contract extension.
And for all his success, there has been almost no bemoaning Hamlin's departure here in Seattle. Why? Well, some of that is because the Seahawks allowed a league-low 15 touchdown passes in the regular season. The other is that Seahawk fans don't have amnesia. They remember all those over-the-top passes Seattle allowed in 2006, especially the bomb to Bernard Berrian in the divisional playoffs.
Well, there's a reference to the move in the Seahawks chapter in "Pro Football Prospectus 2008" -- which I find to be a great resource, by the way. Here's a link to it on Amazon.com. Here's the excerpt:
"Like almost everyone on the Cowboys last year, Hamlin made the Pro Bowl, but astute Dallas fans may now realize why the Seahawks did not make a concerted effort to re-sign him: Yes, Hamlin hits hard when he's in position, but there are plenty of times when he takes the wrong angle and lets his assigned receiver burn him deep. That never happens with Grant, although he must get frustrated watching his backfield companion Brian Russell whiff on tackles so frequently."

Sour grapes. Who cares what these clowns think. We tied up a centerpiece to our defense, period!!! Seattle's secondary looked great in that playoff game against the packers. Seattle is a fineese team that could still benefit from a guy like hamilin. Screw the haters!!!

The Cowboys don't seem to shook up over "losing" Julius Jones to the Seabags either.

They also think Julius Jones will be their savior in the backfield (they eat to many shrooms in the pacific northwest).

They gave up on him after his injuries stemming form that bar fight much like we gave up on Julius after his 'injuries' stemming from Parcells.

I think we got the better player, no question.

So true...Hamlin is a great upgrade for us no matter what the Seahags think.

If RW doesn't return to his early play, Hamlin moves to SS next year and Henry moves to FS.

TNew-AJ at CB
Hamlin-Henry at S
Jenkins-Scandrick for a fifth and sixth DB

Zach Thomas roaming underneath and Ware in the backfield.

Let the rest of the league throw against that!

Last year we gave up fewer long passes than we had in recent memory.

What difference does it make what he did in Seattle, anyway? He's perfect as Wade's centerfield safety. Not only is he physical and smart and a leader -- which we pretty much already knew -- but last year he showed great hands and instincts for intercepting the ball.

I saw replays of Seahawks games that season, and I seem to remember Jordan Babineaux and Michael Boulware(?) as being the closest DB's in coverage on those deep bombs! I think!??!

only seattle would brag about cutting a pro bowler loose. the guy had a hell of a season and will be a quiet stud for years to come on this D. Enjoy Alexander Jr while he trips over gnomes and laces there NFL aggie.

He also seemed to take a bad angle on that Ryan Grant long touchdown run, but I that may have been due to him and Roy trying to anticipate what the other was going to do (or just bad memory on my part!)

I know, they were talking on Sirius yesterday about how the Seahawks like the power running game. Power? With Julius "Tackled by a Shadow" Jones?

Watching the expressions on Seahawks fan faces when they realize how pitiful of a runner Jones really is ranks up there on the things I'm looking forward to this year. Did they look at any game tape other than our head-to-head matchups?

Why do I have a feeling that Jones will have a pretty good game in his first start, Seahawks fans will start crowing, only to see this guy disappear like a ghost by midseason? Julius, you are pathetic. This conference is ours for the taking.

No, what you saw was a strong safety who really doesn't want to mix it up anymore. As I've said numerous times, Roy can't cover, but it's his lack of support in the running game that is really pathetic. He used to be so good too.

I think he lost the eye of the tiger when he signed his big contract. Way to pay JJ back, Roy. You should be proud of yourself.

Roy leveled Grant for no gain just a series or two prior to that, even garnered a "wow" from Collinsworth. He didn't seem too timid on that play.
