Jaylon is just the latest in a long line of of failed big swings that the big decision makers on the team has made. Doubling down on dumb decisions and and rewarding loyalty and hard work can come back to hurt the team. I would say that I hope they are learning or have learned something from these bad choices, but since it seems to be a pattern I would expect more decisions like this in the future.

Major injury concern and character issue (of the kind that put into question the player's desire to play professional football) guys should not be drafted in the first or second rounds (and I would argue 3rd or 4th rounds) no matter their upside. If you do happen to take the risk, allow their contract to go to the final year before deciding on an extension.

It is absurd that the team even gave Jaylon an extension when they did. I agree that no one needs to dance on the player's grave. Just gotta hope that a tiny amount of behavior change happens, and they minimize large contract and draft pick mistakes... Maybe Kelvin Joseph actually becomes even a solid starter or better.

I wasn't on board when we signed Dan Quinn. I thought he would be nothing more than a Nolan clone.

But he as totally revamped the entire defense. Not only personnel wise but the culture.

Only someone like Dan Quinn can make a decision to let Jaylon go. He was Jerry's pet.

Goes to show how much they have given the coach and his coordinators a lot of power.

I blame Jerry for messing up with Jaylon's contract.

But you give him a pat on the back for empowering our coordinators to do what they do best without meddling.

Good points
I think Sean Lee gave the front office false expectations on the second round gambles
Even he missed a lot of games however.

Yep, always guys with first round grades with some kind of injury/off the field issues.

I hope Randy fulfills expectations that began 6 years ago. And Sean missed like a third of the games while playing (and I thought very highly of him).
