I reviewed the All-22.

Diggs got blamed for some big fails that actually were not his fault.

On the play down the right seam, there were 2 WRs open with Diggs as the only DB even close to being able to cover of them.

He initially covered the WR near the sideline then before Wilson released the ball, Diggs switched over the the WR running down the seam.

D.Wilson just stood there as the WR ran past.

There was a DB coming from inside out towards the sideline that was not in place to cover either WR.

There was another one on the right sideline. Diggs dropped back in a zone between the WR and the sideline.

There was absolutely nobody underneath (in front of) the WR. Again, it appeared to be a blown assignment by D.Wilson.

I've been saying for a long time it's the Safety play.

Last week it was clear the DB's were expecting help and didn't get it.

Giants WR's dancing in the end zone as a result.

Either get one in FA or one early in the draft. We need a (at least one) FS that can run and cover.

Think any butts were chewed? :omg:

I would like to see them give a few reps per game to Juanyeh Thomas.

Safety play needs to be fixed. What's odd is a I believe Hooker played for Eberflus

Wilson has to play closer to the line of scrimmage, he isn’t a roof type of safety.

The issue is Wilson is NOT a coverage safety. Wilson will never be a coverage safety, he is too slow and doesn't have that ability. He sucks in this zone system. Get used to him lapsing in coverage and etc. He was good playing in Dan Quinn system playing near the LOS. That is what got him the contract Jerry gave him. I was hoping Juanyeh Thomas would replaced him but I guess not.

I recognize Elams issues with Buffalo, but there was a play early on the right sideline where it was clear he wasn’t necessarily beat, he was expecting help over the top.

It’s unreal to me that teams that aren’t favored to be a top team are willing to throw away games in September just so there’s no injury risk in preseason.

Especially ones that have new schemes. Pure stupidity. For all intents and purposes that Giants game should have been a loss.

Meanwhile guys STILL got hurt in the preseason.

They have to. Wilson is not suddenly going to become even an average deep zone guy.

Like you said in one of your above posts, Wilson just stands there as WRs are running full speed into his area. No awareness whatsoever. We already know he cant flip his hips and keep up with any WR downfield. Its just bad any way you look at it.

When you change schemes like underwear, and you have a stubborn GM that wants his ROI on a contract, you end up with square pegs, and it gets them beat way more often than not.

So they spend two drafts trying to get what the current DC needs/wants, then fire him and start over.

It’s called having a garbage GM that has no real plan other than to not eat contracts.

The new dc should know his personnel. Do agree, changing dc’s and schemes causes problems when they don’t have the right personnel in place. However, they have run a similar scheme for years, outside of Zimmer last yr

I noticed the same thing. I think this is a problem with the Dallas defense and has been for years. The safeties always seem to be out of place on those big plays where the CBs are expecting help. We never, or rarely, see the safeties show the range to get to the ball leaving the CBs alone but expecting help.

Go route vs cover 3 , and Diggs can’t run with their WR.

Great call by their OC.

They likely saw it was there all day.
