High-priced cornerback Leigh Bodden was one of six players released by the Lions on Monday.
The other players being let go are, wide receiver Mike Furrey, guard Edwin Mulitalo, safety Dwight Smith, tight end Dan Campbell and offensive tackle Jon Dunn.

I do think that some of the former Browns could be targets for this team.

Leigh Bodden will probably want a bigger payday than Dallas will give.

But Andra Davis might make some sense as ILB help. Antwan Peek could make some sense is his health checks out and if Ellis is sent packing.

since it has been brought up, does anyone know why the Lions released Bodden? the whole team basically sucked, but i saw on NFL.com he had like 73 tackles or something this season.

Bodden came into Detroit with a lot of promise and he was treated like a second-class citizen every step of the way and his performance reflected it. Bodden is due an $8.6 million roster bonus on Feb. 27 and that's one of the reasons he was cut loose.

The biggest reason for Bodden's departure, though, is because he's damaged goods.
He was a player who might have been able to help turn the team around but he was so disgusted that after the team ended its 0-16 season, Bodden said this about his future: "I want to play football. I don't care where I'm at.''

Wow. If G Mulitalo could stop in a year or two on the cheap, I'd love to see what he could do at LG if Dallas wanted to get some competition there behind Kosier. He used to be a beast but I think a bit injury prone as of late... I'd like to see if he still had something. I don't know much about Bodden tho, but anyhoo I like our current depth at DB... no go for the DB.

I know he was in Detroit last year but I think he's a pretty solid CB and has veteran experience to add depth. I think Anthony Henry is gone.

He's servicable. I wouldnt mind him comin in to replace Henry alot cheaper.
