I was checking out DC.com website for any tidbits of info and came across rather length Troy Aikman interview by local media. Discussions dealth with Romo, this team's future, etc. I think all Cowboy fans will really enjoy watching this interview and seeing how positive Aikman is about the Cowboys. He provides far different perspective then when he's the paid Fox analyst. I just thought it was great to hear what he had to say in his own worlds. Very impressive and should remove anybody who doubts he's a proud Dallas Cowboy.

You should be able to access the interview by simply clicking on his picture and the interview comes up. If his picture no longer there, then just click on the multimedia drop, then click on the Troy Aikman interview and then click on watch video.

Like I said it's pretty lengthy which I just loved. He makes me proud to be a Cowboy and watching him at VR brings back so many great memories. He obviously thinks highly of Romo. Enjoy

I watched that, I found it very interesting to hear him outside of the Fox booth. He was very high on Tony, as he should be. Tony is great.

Troy is so dang cool. Smart. Honest. Has it priorities exactly right.

For the record, and once and for all, anyone who thinks he's not a fan of the Cowboys and an asset to this organization is a straight-up idiot. There's no room for discussion on this topic.

Thanks very much for the tip. Loved listening. Aikman is so very unique. I doin't quite know how to put it all into words. His character obviously is a big part of it.

Even in this relaxed, Dallas writers, environment Troy is not a vocal DC cheerleader IMO. He doesn't try to convince anyone of anything. He has no hype. He is simply very matter of fact on his well thought out opinions.

He does refer to the fact that his perspective on the Cowboys changes when he is on the job with FOX. I don't know that that is either good or bad but I understand how it sometimes ends up frustrating for us DC fans.

Just a great, great listen on this interview. Thanks.

Anyone who watches that and still says he has an anti-Cowboys bias is just bent on saying it and should be ignored.

Exactly. My main gripe with Aikman has been his constant remarks about Garrett being a head coach next year.
I know he is a big fan of Garrett's but I want him to stay with us for at least a little while.
I liked his remarks about the Cowboys Patriot game in which he said that he couldn't understand how people were saying that the Patriots blew us out.
He pointed out that it was a 7pt game in the fourth quarter and that if a few plays had gone the other way in the fourth qtr it could have been very different. That's true but everybody wants to gloat about what a great team the Pats are.

It was a great interview and shows the doubters that Troys does indeed bleed blue

Maybe now people will realize Aikman is not anti-Cowboys. He does not work for FOX to sing the Cowboy praise but to call it the way he sees it fair and balanced which is why he is part of the #1 team

That was a great interview. Troy looked very relaxed, happy for Cowboys and Romo, and was very candid. Props to Troy.

I can't get the Multimedia video anymore. Every time I get one of those green screens, I only get the audio. I've tried just about everything: Latest flash player, newest MS Windows Video, etc. If anyone knows what the problem is, please pm me so that I can finally see Cowboys video again!

I never felt Aikman hated the Cowboys. Do I feel like he has been overly critical of the team on FOX at times? Yes I do.

Maybe I need to listen to the interview again but I would call his stance on the Cowboys, away from FOX, fair and balanced. I don't think Aikman ever hypes the Cowboys. Not even when talking to the Dallas media. Yes he thinks Romo is a great QB but its because he's PLAYING like a great QB not because Troy loves the Cowboys IMO.

So while I really enjoyed the interview at DC.com I suspect there will still be times when he broadcasts on FOX that I'll see him as being overly critical and just a bit off center from fair & balanced.

I don't have a problem with anybody thinking he overcompensates in an attempt to be balanced. I don't agree with it, but it's not ridiculous to suggest. My issue comes in when people think he's overcompensating for a reason other than an attempt to be balanced. Clearly, he's a loyal Cowboy great who believes he has the obligation to be objective when he's taking money to be an NFL analyst. Suggesting anything else is an invitation for derision from other Cowboy fans as far as I'm concerned.

Nor should he ever hype the Cowboys. His consistently analytical, fair, and unbiased views even in the heart of Cowboy land gives him a tremendous amount of credibility, one I'm sure is going to take him very far in his career in television. Even in his Fox broadcasts, I don't think he has been unfairly and overly critical of the Cowboys. While I've heard him say some critical things about the Cowboys in his broadcasts (usually fair comments IMO), I've always thought he's said a ton of positive things to. It's like Cowboys fans watching him only seem to remember the negative comments. Maybe people should pretend to be a fan of the opposing team once while watching him call the game to see how he biased sounds.

So many media idiots pile on to the current popular sentiment of the day with hyperbole like New England could be the greatest team ever, the NFC has no chance in the Superbowl, blah blah blah. When Troy talks, he'll always give a well thought out and reasoned answers, and that yes, the Patriots are the best team in football, but out of 10 games, the Cowboys would take 3 or 4, and that the Boys just need to catch the Pats on one of those days (exactly matches my own view, though I hope if we do meet them, current level of play then will up that number to 4-5 :)).

I also liked candid he was when talking about himself, like how he would never be in the HOF without the Superbowls (implying he knows his stats were never great, which is true), how Romo is simply blowing away the best season he ever had (also true), and how he thinks Romo can do things that he never could with his athleticism (true again). And he doesn't say this begrudgingly, but matter of factly.
