Seems like overall AFC sucks this year

And the tide might be turning to NFC now. Better QBing especially overall in NFC than AFC. One of those years, we all can wish, Cowboys can make it SB.

Darn it, if Packers make it SB, they are winning it. I think its same with NO. I don't see any other team making to SB right now from NFC. I know anything can happen in playoffs, but realistically, I don't see a shot for Cowboys, unless they suddenly develop into great D in next 2 weeks and into playoffs. Don't even take Packers name last year or Giants a few years ago. Both teams had real good D throughout most of the year, their O was iffy at times, which is opposite of Cowboys this year.

From AFC, seems like anyone who makes Playoffs, except Denver can make it SB.

I don't know. I think Baltimore, Pittsburgh and New England are pretty stout.

I'd put them up against Green Bay, New Orleans and San Francisco and like their odds. Green Bay's the best team but there's a bigger drop off in the NFC.

Yeah ok.

I don't know about that.

I think the Packers are pretty clearly the best team, I would put them in a tier all by themselves. They aren't invincible, but we can give them that much.

After that it's New Orleans, Pittsburgh, New England, Baltimore, and San Francisco in some order.

Then a gigantic mess of 12-15 teams that are all roughly equal.

Agreed, except I wouldn't put San Francisco in that tier. I think they're frauds and will be one and done in the postseason.

I don't necessarily disagree, but you can't ignore double digit wins. Whether they're winning ugly or not, they are getting it done.

The Monday night game will tell us a lot.

You don't?

You honestly think the NFC has a better 1-3 seed?

If you think AFC is better, than I have nothing to say other than say watch the games. I specifically QB. Other than Tom Brady, you don't know what you are going to get from AFC QBs each week, regardless of Big Ben's Histronics and "Injuries.

So, Yeah Ok, whatever you want to believe in. Interesting that you want to point out 1-3 teams, when I already specifically said NO and GB only.

The Packers are not in a tier by themselves. Clearly today showed they are very vulnerable. Their defense sucks and they have no running game. With the weather changing it's gonna be very difficult for them to just throw it 40-50 times and win.

Their D doesn't suck, but its not the last year D by any means. Yes, you are correct that they don't have much of Running game, but they didn't have one last year either. But that helped them during SB run since they played in Dome or ran into Bears who lost their QB mid game.

So lot of chips fell their way. And NO same issue with D.

Overall, you never know this year Nobody is a sure thing. I guess Cowboys can do it if their D gets hot. I just don't trust Cowboys D at all. I predicted 9-7 year this +1/-1, and they seem to be heading in that direction.

I specifically QB too. :)

Big Ben's got a near triple digit QB rating this year. I didn't realize he was chopped liver. I'll put Brady and Roethlisberger up against Rodgers and Brees and call it a push. I could see any of those team beating each other. Another push.

You said the AFC appears to suck this year. So I responded with they seem to have a better 1-3 than the NFC. That means I disagree.

I just don't see one conference as better, with the exception of the Packers deserving to be ranked at the top.

Yeah, Ok.

the 2 most complete teams are NO and Pitt IMO

GB is beatable and i would like our chances against them in cold weather

lets make the playoffs, then anything is possible

The only team that presents any challenge in the AFC is the Steelers because of their defense.

Everyone else is beatable, and can be beaten handily.

Steelers D is not all that either. But probably, only close enough complete team left in AFC this year. I.e. D, QB, Coaching. Rest of the AFC teams, have major weakness in one phase or other to win consistently or win in playoffs without a lot of breaks going their way.

But personally, I have not been impressed by Steelers D this year. Either due to injuries or age, it hasn't been intimidating/nasty D, other than the head hunting moron James Harrison. Polamalu, quietly has been burn toast a lot this year, much more than normal ( he usually makes more plays than being burned).

I agree that their defense isn't incredible this year but they're solid in all three phases, as opposed to the other teams that have enormous question marks either on offense (Baltimore) or defense (New England).

All teams have questionable areas. Packers (defense), Saints (defense), 49ers (offense), Cowboys (defense).

But if you want to rank the teams, I'd have at least 3 of the top 5 coming out of the AFC.
