With the selection of Gallop at WR..

that pretty much ends the Thomas Trade rumors.

We can sign him next year.

Hopefully we won't need to by then.

One of our young guys under Richards will bloom.

Thoughts!

just another off season pipe dream. nothing more. just keeps people talking that havent learned you dont need to talk about everything.

This isn't over. Nothing says it even has to be done this weekend.

Seattle is in a weak position, and Dallas is trying to exploit that. I do think Dallas needs Thomas, especially now that we only have three safeties on the roster.

Glad they didn't pull the trigger to give up too much. Next year is certainly a possibility, but for now we should look into Boston, Reid, or Vaccaro.

No we give them a 4th. Seattle knows Thomas is gone next season and will want something for him but at this point I wouldn't trade for him. Just keep drafting and let Seattle dream about the 1st and 3rd they wanted
I agree.

Signing and trading for him is a poor idea of building a team.

I would not want to be stuck paying him for the years he put in at Seattle.

It did not benefit us in anyway so why pay the freight now?

Building teams is now a 3-4 year window. Everybody leaves in about 5 years anyway.

They could take a 4th this year for him. Or get a 4th next year for him. But they'll have to pay his contract this year, not to mention having an unhappy vet on the team wearing out the young guys. I'd laugh if they cut him. Always a possibility.

We have two 4’s. I’d offer the lowest and tell them take it or leave it

I would go get Thomas now rather than a year older and more beat up ET. He only has a few elite years left, no reason to waste one of them, especially if Dallas covets him when he hits free agency.

If Earl is in their future plans, might as well get him for this season. If they have no interest in paying him big money, then let it go and lets move on. If it only takes a 4th and some dinero......fine by me.

Personally, I think he would take this average defense to top 5, maybe.

A 4th, 5th, and 7th.

Ten rookies aren't making this team anyway.

But if ET is asking for too much money, the point is moot.

Dallas might spend tonight trying to hammer out a deal with him, or just drop it.
agreed

we have 2 of each except for 7th but 7th rounders are PS players at best.

Woods is awesome and can play either safety spot, but we don't have another safety who can cover well AND tackle...
