The history of this team is full of games like Sundays. Dallas has always had a knack of winning games they probably shouldn't and following it up with a loss to a team they should probably dominate. The one that I kept thinking about yesterday was the Detroit game in 1985. The Cowboys absolutely destroyed the Commanders to open the season, then turned around and laid an egg in Detroit the next week. That "85 team also got destroyed against Chicago and Cincinnati later that year but pulled a huge victory over the Giants to take the NFC East. I just hope this Cowboys team can at least find the resolve to do what that '85 team did, like win the division...

If I'm not mistaken they lost that game to Detroit on a last second score by the Lions.

No, the Lions dominated that '85 game for pretty much the entire game. The final score made it seem closer than it really was. Tony Hill had like 11 catches, but most of them came after we were down a couple of scores with little chance to win.

No, we were behind 26-0 in the fourth quarter. We scored a couple of touchdowns, then got another with less than a minute left to make the final score 26-21.

The Lions beat us on a last-second score (with 12 men on the field) in 1981.

OK, must be the 81 game I was thinking of.

I only remember that game because it was right afterwards I stood up in my living room and cussed everyone in the house like they were dogs. (Some of them dared laugh and say how cute the Lions were in their celebration, I can still see the stunned looks on their faces after my tirade)

Or how about the playoff game in 91 when the Lions stomped us. When Aikman was ready and should have started that game, but the "almighty" Jimmy didn't. He put aikman in to start the 2nd half, but even then he couldn't pull that one out.
