At the very least, Selvie looked ok at first glance. I saw a few times he made some mistakes in the run game, but overall he was decent. If nothing else maybe we can get him as a cheap starter next year when Spencer leaves. I think as a starter this guy has 8-10 sack per year potential.

Sorry. Looking for the good coming out of this tough loss.

Selvie is a monster, man. HE looked like the 1st round pick out there

Selvie really should be considered if we should draft a replacement for Spencer. The guy really has shown something.

I agree. I was very skeptical in pre-season and it is a small sample size after only two games, but he is showing some consistency. We may have found something with this guy.

He's a keeper. He could turn out be a stopgap for Spencer until we find/draft Spencer's replacement. At worst, he will be a great rotation guy.

I'm of the opinion that we should resign Selvie and Hatcher and focus on finding a franchise 3-Tech.

Selvie/Crawford DT/Hayden/Rat(?) Hatcher/Hayden/Cohen Ware/Wilber

That's a legit rotation.

Agree. Hopefully Rat comes back and can give us a boost the second half of the season. Wilber needs to start showing up. He has been active the first two games, but I haven't noticed him at all.

You don't need to guard your optimism so much. It's ok to recognize that Selvie had another nice game and was a really good VFA acquisition. I mean, you'll get dumped on a bit at this point on a Sunday, but that's not the end of the world. It's just people being upset on the internet.

Selvie definitely looked good on an otherwise bad day for the team.

I just haven't re-watched to see if some of those big runs were on him. He sure looks good bringing pressure. Also, I wanted to temper my enthusiasm until he does it for 6 or so games to see if it wasn't a little blind luck.

No on a 31 y/o Hatcher. Not sold on Selvie yet.

Tyrone Crawford is probably the left end next year when Spencer leaves. Selvie should be re-signed to backup Ware at right end. Better against the run (normally) than the undersized Kyle Wilber.

I like Selvie.

I just hope this isn't another Laurent Robnson situation where we get no opportunity to offer an extension during the season. This applies to Nick Hayden, too.

the first two picks next year shouldbe DE and DT in any order. really like the big DT fro Minnesota, for a big guy he is explosive as hell
