Sensy has been a stud this year

Lock him up...if Ryan stays lock up Elam as well

The only way i would let any of them go, is if we had a shot at Ray Ray in the draft.

I love me some sensy...always in perfect position it seems.

And on those long runs, isn't it sweet to see a safety not take a poor angle this year? As well as make solid tackles.

He's turning into a ball hawk i like it

As long as you've got a competent partner at safety to go with Sensy he's darn good. He gets himself in trouble when he has to play with someone like Ball back there.

I think it helps when the players you are working with are doing their jobs.

I find it similar to commensalism or symbiosis. Sensabaugh is made better or at least isn't made worse because of the pieces around him.

The secondary plays better if the front seven plays better and vice versa.

This is why I'm a strong believer in catalytic players. They are game changers, and force teams to do things that they don't want to do.

I feel like we need more of those players on defense. Couchscout mentioned that the players like that right now are Ware, Ratliff, Jenkins, and I believe Lee. I could be messing that up, but that's what I recall.

I think Bruce Carter could become a catalyst.

These types of players really are transformative players.

lol. Sorta like how I get in trouble when I'm hanging out with Lindsey Lohan?

I was not a fan of his re-signing but I am happy to have been wrong about it. He has been playing very well.

But if it were an either/or proposition between the safeties, I'd still take Abram Elam.

I think he's the guy who provides the stability back there that we have sorely missed, and I am cautiously optimistic that Barry Church can eventually replace Sensabaugh.

Ray Ray is greatly overrated. the guy is awful in coverage and is a true in the box safety.

I don't know about giving him a long-term deal, but he's been real good this year.

I would offer Sensy, Elam, and Robinson all three year deals to get them locked up before the season ends. If any of them are pushing for a big pay day then at least we'll know we need to find a replacement for them in the off-season. However, all three of these players have been instrumental to our team this season and we should attempt to bring all of them back.

Elam has been the difference IMO. Sensabaugh isnt having to deal with worrying about which coverage Alan Ball will blow next.

words...outta my mouth. He really can focus on JUST his assignments now and not have to worry if the FS is gonna blow it.

He's being compared to Sean Taylor.

I feel he would be the guy to put fear into teams. And awful in coverage? He may not be the best but the guy is good, and he can fly!

Either way i would be happy with Sensy back

Like the safety play. Alan Ball has to go and CB maybe our first pick....Then fix D-Line and O-Line.

Here is the issue really, on a national telecast, we can't see the safeties every play. This is why I asked couchscout about it, cause he has a different view, and can see the safeties on his film. He viewed Sensy as the one he would want to resign over Elam if he had to pick one of them, and I have a tendency to agree cause of his athleticism and potential.

Elam has stablized it back there, but a true ball hawking FS would take this defense to a whole nother level.

Up to this point in the year, the combination of Gerald Sensabaugh and Abram Elam is probably the best two safeties that the Dallas Cowboys have had since Darrell Woodson retired.

This past game, Elam had the green dot and the field connection to the Defensive Coordinator through a receiver in his helmet. Sean Lee has had it prior to his injury. But this shows the amount of trust the team has in Elam.

I agree with the original post, Sensaubaugh has improved his play, with the addition of Elam and the application of scheme under Rob Ryan. But I would think that salary cap considerations for next year's free agents would be left to the off season, so that needs can be reassessed once again. And a full picture on both need and cap can be given full utilization towards upgrading team ability under the cap.

Of interest, is that Elam played college ball at Kent State. He was an undrated free agent. He came in for a tryout, talked with Bill Parcells. Then he went in and talked with Jerry Jones, when he told Elam that he was going to join the team for camp. Elam then studied hard and took to learning about Special Team play. Also, he and Coleman were traded for the draft pick that secured the present Jet's quarterback.

I'd have to agree with this.

The safety play is as good as it has been since Woodson retired.

I'm on board with extending Sensy and Elam.

We have enough potential holes to in other areas without creating more in what has been a productive (although perhaps not Pro-Bowl worthy) position.
