With home field locked up and the regular season essentially finished it might be interesting to look back to the summer early fall and see what questions or concerns existed at the start of the season and how they have turned out
1. Coaching
Is Wade the man to lead this team? Was Norv Turner the better man? Why was Jason Garrett hired first?-wouldnt that lead to problems and was it just Jerry being goofey?
I think the answer is very obvious. Wade is the anti Parcells and Garrett has injected much needed life and innovation into what is one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL now
2. Romo
Is he the man? Detractors say he only has less than a season under his belt. He could be just a flash in the pan. We know how that turned out so far!!!!
3. Leonard Davis
How could Jerry give such a contract to a career under acheiver?? The critics howled
Pro Bowl baby
4. Julius Jones
In a contract year he will be extra motivated and have a monster year?
Unfortunately, while he has contributed in some ways, Barber has improved light years ahead of JJ
5. Defense and in particular the pass rush
Are we ever going to get consistent pressure on a QB? Is Wade Mr Fix it?
Shouldnt we have taken a defensive back in the draft instead of Spencer? Is Greg Ellis fini?
Answer: The front seven are talented with an excellent rotation and this is the most fun I have had watching players like Haley errrrr our new improved version of 94 ---D Ware! who is growing into a Defensive Player of the Year candidate before our eyes. Most enjoyable is the way he is being moved around to maximize his potential. And this goes for Spencer and Ellis and the variety of blitzed that are brought.
Greg Ellis has to be the most heart warming success story on the team for a cowboys fan.
6. Is TO worth signing?
there was question at the time of renewal whether it was worth reupping or would it be better for the team to just cut this cancer loose and move on.
Give major credit to Jerry for not even hesitating
7.Field goal kicker
Is Gramatica the man even though we have to be inside the 20 for him to reach? What the heck did the Cowboys waste a pick on Nick Folk and if they were going to pick a kicker why not the name guy in Crosby?
Pro Bowl baby!!!
I guess when your record is 13 and 2 most questions that existed pre season are answered in a positive manner but credit to the organization from top to bottom. I am so enjoying this season after a decade of gloom.
Any other questions you guys can think of? Because the Cowboys are so visible, every move seems to be scrutinized and criticized more than other teams, but when things work out, you never hear from the critics
