Serious Roster Question

In almost every roster prediction I see, I'm always left with the same questions. Can y'all please help me?

1) Why is Heath still here? Can't we find someone to fill that special teams need that can also contribute in another area as well?

2) Why do we need 4 Tight Ends if we are also keeping Clutz? Is there anything that Clutz does that Hanna, or Swaim coudn't do? Would any of the guys besides JW make another roster? Slow and less than average hands are the two things I think of when I see Escobar and Hannah. Is Swaim any different? Do y'all really want Gavin to replace Jason? That's a scary thought...

3) I'm still 99% certain that in a real competition, Weeden coudn't win a NFL job even as a thrid team guy. He doesn't deserve to wear a Star on his helmet. This is a decision by JJ and JG made soley on pride. They still have that "don't want to admit I'm wrong" attitude sometimes that bothers me. I can't believe we would gamble a superbowl with a backup as horrible as Weeden. Stop saying there is nobody else. There are two other ones on this team, and when you think of that, that's' scary and bad.

4) McCray is another guy I don't get. Seems like our coaches keep a few of these guys just to make us mad.

1) I suspect Heath isn't that far out of line for what one expects for a backup safety in the league and that he's one of our best special teams players makes it a bit dumb to contemplate cutting him.

2) Because Garrett wants a FB. Gavin Escobar is probably on his way to being a split out TE more then a traditional inline TE. I'm wondering if Swaim can develop enough to be a starting TE given a year or two.

3) Because what you hope for in a backup is someone who can not have the team implode if he has to play about a game and a half. If your starter misses more then that you have to be insanely lucky to have good backup on your roster, or be in a system that somehow makes crap play up.

4) Special teams play makes or breaks games from time to time so keeping a couple of guys around who are very good special teams players makes a ton of sense, even if they are limited at normal positions.

I'm not sure anyone can help you...maybe you can take steps to help yourself.

It's all good. I know you probably didn't mean it like this, but I completely agree.. LOL

Pretty sure most of the board feels the way you conveyed in your original post. These concerns have been kicked around for more than one season now. Frustration may have turned into apathy.

The end of roster stuff is going to change a lot in the next few weeks and will continue to do so throughout the year. I wouldn't put too much though into it.

I think Hanna get cut for Swaim

I want Austin Davis in here as BU QB

Seems a lot don't remember last year he almost beat us

Hanna is known for his blocking. Swaim has been average as a blocker (according to Broaddus). I think they keep 4 TE's.

Weeden was held out for precautionary reasons, why dump on him, as he did not play. He can play Thursday night and play very well, showing why he is the backup and why the coaches like him as the backup.

No one expected much from any player in game one, he was injured in game and didn't play much. See what he does in hism3rd game,,where he may get some extended playing time.

You haven't figured this out yet? Its how Ball stuck around so long. In fact Im surprised we didnt extended Reeves to a long term deal after the season he had in 2007

It's sad we have a reject from the factory of sadness backing up Romo.

Weeden is no worse in my mind than Brad Johnson was when he was a backup, these days you are not likely to have a dynamic backup with lots of upside. Normally it is a Weeden type who does not seem to make all the connections(some call them bus drivers).

Clutts is growing on me, he brings the Murray attitude to the RB's he is not backing down to anyone and is the one that will attone a Golden Tate hit. He is doing mostly dirty work which most do not appreciate. IMO
