How many times has our season come down to a BIG game where we have to win/should win, only to have the game turn into some hollywood ending for the other team? It's almost a sure thing anymore. In fact, 2 years ago, vs Philly, was way out of character for this team. I knew all week we would bungle last nights game.......like they did. It's par for the course.

- Seattle, bobbled snap on a gimme FG to win a playoff game.
- Houston, their first game ever on sunday night football.
- Baltimore to close down Texas stadium.
- NY Giants opening the new stauium.
- Philadelphia 44-6.
- Philadelphia Christmas game.
- 2007 season, 12-1, falling to 13-3, and losing to the Giants. One and done. Cabo.
- The 3 games this year where we had a double digit lead in the 4th qtr, only to lose. Only happened 2 times prior to this year.
- Detroit where Kitna was just laughing after their win.
- Vikings 34-3 beating in the playoffs, then Brooking crying about it.
- 2005 season, losing 2/3 to the Skins 35-7 and Rams 20-10, RAMS! and missing the playoffs?
- 3 years of Dave Campo as HC......and he's still here.

Seriously, name another team that has had more build up to let down ratio then the Cowboys? It's kinda funny and sad at the same time.

its really sad. i'd be interested to know how our defense was ranked during all of these. not that rankings matter, because we could go in with the #1 ranked defense and still figure out a way to *** it up. jeez.

I hate to say it but I knew we where going to lose last night. For the past 15 years we have been the all-time, come up small in big time games team.
If the game is big, don't count on us to win it, because we won't.
It drives me nuts, especially after growing up watching Landry and Johnson's coached teams.

Jimmy Johnson never would have gotten a 2nd year in Dallas if most fans were in charge.

Are you seriously comparing what Jimmy inherited and what Garrett has and has been part of for years now?

Maaaan I just sit and read some of the post and comments of some of our fans and it's absolutely amazing what I see. It's soooo obvious a lot of fans on this board never played football or competitive sports before. I even get a big chuckle from some of the post. Again, amazing!!!

Can you imagine this board after the 1-15 season?

That win over WASH is still one of my all time favorites

That said, I do not feel as optimistic right now as I did after that 1-15 season

Did you see a comparison? Or an accusation? I mean I can teach you English if you need me to.

Please tell me what you and Hos are seeing from Garrett this year that says this team is headed in the right direction? I am serious because myself, I see the same lazy unprepared team we have seen for years.

I'm not saying fire Garrett because I think he needs time to mature as a HC. Smart people find ways to fix mistakes they've made. Red is smart so I'm hoping he'll fix the past few weeks worth of mistakes he's made.

My post was more in line with how the Cowboys lose big games in crazy ways over the years. The trend is there.

You are right. You can say the same thing about Landry.

Garrett needs more than 1 season as HC, to see what he can do.

Look at the Texans with Kubiak. If it was up to the majority of people on this board, Kubiak would have been fired after year 1.

The Texans where patient and look at them now, they are one of the top teams in the AFC.

31 out 32 teams will have their seasons end because they failed in a "big game".

You know, I told a guy I work with the same thing. I could see the Cowboys losing Sunday based on the following factors:

  • It's a Sunday night game.
  • It's on Primetime TV.
  • They've had extra time to prepare (not much, but extra time nonetheless).
  • They're playing a team with their backs against the wall.
Oddly enough, I said when Coughlin called the last second timeout, "Watch, we'll either muff the field goal or the Giants will block it."

It's just the state of this franchise.

So just because someone played competitive sports makes them a better and more knowledgeable fan?
I think not.

Not defending them, or going against you. Just seems out of context, stating people who did not, or could not play sports are uninformed.

Back then, most fans knew it was a rebuilding project.
This team is being promoted as contenders...but it is not, they are in a sense rebuilding, but in a slow mediocre way.

Now it's more of a restricted process now, with the salary cap, and much larger contracts. But it's one disappointment after another.

However I do believe Jason is heading in the right direction and that he is the right guy.

Paul Palmer doing the nestea plunge in the endzone after his TD run. That was a great game.
