You don't think we can bring in an UDFA to replace TT?

You could, I suppose. I wouldn't mind having a talented third back though especially if you could get some guys with a few different skill sets. Returners (punt and kick) are definitely a need.

If Omar Cuff happened to go undrafted, I'd snap him up. Lex Hilliard would be a decent third guy/PS RB I think.

couldn't find it, but you can verify w/ the poster theogt that that is indeed what Jerry said

k thats kool

Anthony Spencer is considered short for a 3-4 OLB, Bobby Carpenter is 6'2", and he's inside, Wade even scouted him at ILB while he was at San Diego, I'm not saying Bruce is strictly an ILB, and not a OLB, just he would be a good fit at ILB, hell, we could keep him at OLB too

Bobby was drafted as an OLB for us. Moved inside because he sucks and he's still sucking.

the rule is 3 years, although some WRs break out in the 2nd year

and again, Doucet is a ready-made receiver

Wasn't the three year rule was a Parcells philosophy? I don't think that rule applies to 1st round draft picks any way.

it could also mean 5/6 mil a year

still manageable

no way Choice lasts till the 6th, and notice that I'm having us take Chris Johnson in the 2nd?

Yea i see that but i'm thinking we take Johnson in the first as the last pick since he's projecting round 1-2 pick up Okam/Dre Moore/Red Bryant. Yea i think we pick up the other on the 1st day. We get JJ replacement TT replacemnt/ MB3 replacement.

special teams is so important nowadays, hell, this year an NFL record # of kicks and punts were returned for TDs

This is true but how long do you expect the influx to continue?

me too, but then we have Fergie, a biceps injury isn't career-threatening, he should be fine, Tank, Bowen, and Spears, all capable of playing NT in the 3-4

I don't think that Spears should be back. He digressed this year and have not lived up to his first round potential. I don't care how many names you throw at me when its an upgrade you have to up grade. Here lets play this game name all the QB's that started be4 tony romo. =) see my point.

Carp's play is not the point, just shorter DEs are better suited at ILB in a 3-4

again, Bruce Davis can be another Teddy Bruschi, hell our own Akin Ayodele was a pass-rushing DE at Purdue

the 3-year WR rule is not a Parcells' thing

well, we're probably not getting rid of him

I wouldn't call a rookie who's known to disappear for long stretches, an upgrade, it's 50/50 he busts anyways, and he's a huge boom or bust type of player, so his chances of busting increases exponentially from the norm

and the influx for return touchdowns won't increase if you have good special teams to prevent them

That report by Boylhart is spot on and sounds remarkably similar to what I've been telling you about the guy. People will knock him because he didn't have a lot of production in college, and normally I'd agree given that it adds more risk to the pick, but I think this guy is a pretty safe bet.

Akin's play isn't something you should use as argument as he really didn't have a good year this year.

I would love it if our draft played out this way. In particular, the first 3 picks and the Bruce Davis pick.

he didn't have a bad year, but my example's production isn't the point, just that short, college DEs project better inside in the 3-4, OLBs need a long-wingspan in order to fight off the length of OTs huge wingspans, you're not going to typically have the arm-length to effectively do that if you stand under 6'5"

I don't like Tom Zbikowski. Being from the South Bend area, I've seen and heard a lot about him. Even saw him in person at a bar. I didn't see many games this season, because Notre Dame games were amazingly unwatchable, but unless he made great strides he can't cover anyone. I also don't think anyone will want him to return punts at the professional level. I just can't see him being a starting safety at the next level, and I think with a 3rd round pick we should be focusing on guys who have a bit more upside.

7. Nebraska QB Sam Keller

once highly, touted signal-caller for Arizona State, would compete w/ Richard Bartel to be the developmental QB, think Derek Anderson but w/o quite the arm-strength

Michael Irvin off the field.

Kid will say all the right things in the press, but he has pretty much the same exact problems Irvin did off the field. Nebraska found out in a hurry why ASU wanted no part of him anymore. And before you ask, I am a Nebraska fan saying this.

Zibby made some big plays in 2005. Not so many in 2006. And only a couple in 2007. Sadly, he is in the Roy Williams area of coverage capability. He will make some plays, but he will give up just as many. I do not think he is all that great at punt returns.
