It would seem that Garrett can be successful running and offense with just about any QB under center. Very similar to Shanahan. For years he could put any RB out there and be successful.

Isn't that the truth. I think both sides of the ball need some new parts along the line.

for that and his name is Don " Air " Coryell, through Ernie Zampese and Norval Eugene Turner. Notice that just about whever ever Norv has coached, the QB seems do well. Jason Garrett's system is based on Norv's system and in both instances they have the QB getting rid of the ball as quickly as possible.

McGee's struggled early, no surprised there, because he was hesitating. He didn't want to make a mistake, so he started to stare down receivers ( Jason Witten in this case ). The system is not design for that. He's supposed to read the defense, along with the receiver, both come to the same conclusion without communicating it, and then throw the ball to the spot that the receiver is supposed to be. As McGee got more snaps, he felt more comfortable, and started doing exactly that. The darts he threw to Sam Hurd and Miles Austin over the middle that resulted in 1st downs are perfect example of it. That's the same thing that Norv does with his QBs. His system is VERY friendly towards them.

Of course, the QB has to be talented and smart, and thank goodness that Kitna and McGee are, otherwise it's a disaster.

Kitna isn't just any QB he's an experienced veteran who's had a couple of 4000 yard seasons. As for McGee he made a couple of nice throws last night and several he threw into the turf. He's got a long way to go.

I can assure you that no coach can plug in just any QB and be successful unless the plan is to have them handoff most of the time and allow their running game and defense to carry them.
